Wow! Update...GRRR!

Just got back from the doctor. I had been feeling really lightheaded and off lately. Also my random bleeding this past week on cd15 was very odd. Turns out I have an underactive thyroid! Just went for a ton of bloodwork, have a sonogram of my thyroid scheduled, and will hopefully start medication on Monday when I go back. My gyn never tested my thyroid after the m/c. My dr says it could've caused it and once we get me on medicine I should get pg in no time and keep it. Just so happy to finally have some answers.

UPDATE: First of all my Dr. had wanted me to make the appt for this morning since I had off. When her staff told her she took off she said, "Oh why did I take off. I'll come in to meet with you. Can you make it at 8?" So of course I said yes and couldn't believe she would actually come in just to follow up with me. Well, long story short, she never showed and they told me she was off and not coming in. After explaining that I knew she was off and what she said to me they finally called her and basically she wasn't coming. It's her private practice. She spoke to the PA before she even saw any of my bloodwork or sono results. The poor PA was trying to make an excuse for her.
So she tells the PA that even if my thyroid levels are OK, to put me on this natural supplement Thyrotain.
Basically my thyroid level was normal, 1.17. My vitamin D was low so I have to take supplements for that, and my iodine was low. Through my research it seems that iodine promotes your thyroid function. Sono was normal.
So I went from feeling so excited to have some answers to feeling so annoyed!! It was my last day off and she is never there during my work hours :( Uhhhh, I just feel hopeless right now.
I don't even feel right taking this supplement right now.

do you know if an overactive thyroid can effect a pregnancy? I know I have one but no one has done a thing about it and I'm currently pregnant.

Thanks girls! I just hope that this is all that's going on. Feels good to know that I'm not going crazy and what I've been feeling is valid.

I don't know about an overactive thyroid, but I'm sure it's something your gyn knows, right? Over or underactive, I can't imagine it's good.

I'm under the care of an re but I don't think they are that "with it" they asked me if the allergy meds I take are safe durning pregnancy. makes me think they aren't really watching me. turns out one of them isn't and I thought it was

Maybe I should call them about this.

Nope, no weekends. Her hours are horrible. I'd have to take a half day from work just to see her or wait til summer vacation. I want to go for a second opinion. Any suggestions? I'm in Suffolk close to Port Jeff.
