Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
i'm on the fence about getting a bassinet because we have limited space in our bedroom. it would def be a tight squeeze. i was thinking maybe to save money i would get one on craigslist but i'm not sure if thats a good idea.
Would you buy a used one on craigslist?
Update: i put a cheaper one on my registery yesterday and someone bought it already so problem solved! thanks for your opinions

Re: Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
you could always just register for a new bassinet sheet set. My bassinet was a hand me down from SIL. I was concerned about needing a new mattress but then i realized the mattresses for many bassinets are already plastic covered and then you put the sheet over that. so as long as the sheets you put over it are clean and you give it a thorough wiping before use...there should be no worries about bed bugs or mites etc.
ETA: there's also nothing wrong with washing the sheets in hot water (as long as theyre not stained coz then that would skeeve me)

I probably wouldnt want a used one, but that's just me.
I got this for my mom's apartment bc we spend alot of time there and I want to have a place to put the baby, it folds and can be stored easily, its like a mini playard. Maybe you can store it in the closet to save space?
This one is $89 at BRU

Re: Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
We have family friends we trust who used theirs for all the kids in their family (they were all born close together) and we trust them..we bought new sheets and they cleaned it well..it can't hurt to look at one and the worst that could happen is that you don't purchase it...I wasn't even going to use a bassinet, but then this was offered to us.

Bassinet and pack and plays I'd get from a friend/family where you know where it came from. Me personally I wouldn't from Craigslist (more so pack and play than bassinet)

We had one of these too in our room that we used with both of our daughters, the smaller play yard. It was perfect.

Re: Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
Our bassinet that we used with our DD ws recalled and unfortunatly with how much everything costs and the fact this is my 2nd baby and will probably not have a baby shower, we could not a afford a brand new one especially since our crib was also recalled and needed to buy another one of those too. I bought a Arms-Reach co-sleeper off Craigslst for $50, it was used 2 months and looks brand new, i set it up and it looks brand new, i cleaned it down just to be safe. Im a bargain shopper and especially since im probably not having a baby shower, i will use used baby items if i have to.

Re: Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
I probably would not. I don't buy anything from craigslist and never even look around on there. I just don't trust craigslist. sorry.
BUT I don't see anything wrong with other people doing it.
I also don't intend on using a bassinet.... once the girls posted that graco sleeper thing... I really want that instead and it's not expensive at all. I think it was under $50.

Re: Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
somebody else brought up a good point on here...most people don't use a bassinet but for a few months. so the wear an tear on something like that would be very minimal

Nope.
Ask around, I'm sure you have friends willing to lend one out though.

I think this is our plan if the baby's room isn't done before arrival

Re: Would you buy a used Bassinet from Craigslist?
Nope...I'd rather pay the extra money and know that it's clean and where it came from. Getting stuff like that from someone unknown skeeves me (sorry). However, I would take one from a family member or close friend, being that I know where it came from.
