we actually sold 2 cars off craiglist. One in New York and one In Florida. The one that we sold in New York was a mini van and after 30 min we had like 6 people interest and 3 hrs later it was sold.

well..my dad bought one off of ebay, and the station wagon they just bought was through craigs list..although it was a dealer listing his stuff through there.
so far, no problems.

my parents sold a car off of craigslist.
They have bought 2 cars off of ebay though, never craiglist (but I think ebay is just easier for them because they are in a more remote area where craigslist isn't that helpful). But they bought both from dealers that also advertised off of ebay, so they were able to visit the dealer sites and test drive the cars, do carfax, etc. before buying.

Yep...We actually looked before we bought our most recent Car ( from a dealer in the end)...and we sold DH's car in 2 days on there for full asking price.
