Latest Day to Test?

I am taking progesterone this cycle which could be delaying AF. If my calculations are correct I should have been due for AF yesterday. I tested and BFN. I am using Prometrium 200mg 3x a day as a suppository.

I am on cycle day 27 and roughly 14-16dpo. I used an OPK and got a positive reading the night of cycle day 11 but I think I actually ovulated closer to cycle day 13. My last few cycles have been 30, 26 and 28 days.

With my last pregnancy I tested on cycle day 28 and had a very very faint line. With that cycle I'm not sure when I ovulated. I miscarried that pregnancy.

I am pretty sure I am out. The only symptom I have is cramping but it feels more like AF is trying to come out :( I'm also tired but I'm always tired before AF. Also, I think exhaustion and cramping can be side effects from the medication. Honestly, I don't "feel" pregnant.

I am testing again tomorrow, cycle day 28. If it's another BFN do you think it's safe to say I am out and I can stop using the medication? I know I can request a bloodtest from my OB but to be honest if I'm not pregnant I don't want to delay AF any longer than necessary. My OB said if I test negative to stop using the medication. I figure I'll give it one more day?

Lastly, if I am pregnant would it be considered a late implantation? I think I read that the miscarraige rate for late implantation is 85% and that scares the crap out of me. I already had a miscarriage so I want an early BFP not a late one, KWIM? :(

i would call your dr and ask. you don't want to stop early and risk any complications. some women don't get a positive until after AF is due. the dr may want you to wait until 18dpo or so, or maybe have you come in to their office to test.

Thanks for replying.

When I got the prescription for the medication I asked the doctor what to do and I was instructed to test and if it was negative to stop using the medication. I'm assuming the doctor wanted me to test the day after AF is supposed to show. She didn't say to test earlier or later.

The stories of early BFPs are discouraging and the stories of late BFPs are nerve wracking.

I think I'll test again tomorrow on day 28. I have one test left and I don't want to waste it. At that point I should be getting a positive if I'm pregnant if on cycle day 11 I got a :) right?
