WELL Not really but MY GOD THESE houses...
My DH lived in Plano Tx. I just went to Realtor.com to look 
4 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms. $205,000.00

yup you can buy great homes out there for much less..My cousin bought a house in Dallas and complains now how it's too big for them, and she wishes she had gotten something smaller!! She spent like $250k on her house-custom built!

Plano is a nice area. I've been there quite a few times. My friend graduated from East Plano HS many years ago and the campus is like a Jr. College-so nice. I think her graduating class was about 1100 ppl.

I read a story that Plano TX had the highest percentage of students on crystal meth...I guess the kids have money, time and access b/c of its location
Just goes to show you there are tradeoffs everywhere

My friend lives in Pearland Tx outside of Houston. I have been to the model homes and want to cry how beautiful they are and how cheap!

You're right - it escaped me! But now I remember that it was heroine, b/c they had the money to buy it.

OMG - that's the most heartbreaking thing to realize...we could all get so much more somewhere else. I everytime I see this - BUT - in all fairness I love it here too much to leave and I know that both DH and I would never make the money we make here anywhere else (not that it's anything to jump up and down for - but still). So it's the trade off we make to be near family and friends, have our jobs, and remain in our comfort area.
ETA: I never thought the time would come when homes (like these) would become eye candy.

Do you see that they have a king sized bed and the room makes it look like a twin sized!???????????? UGH!!!!!!
Most of the houses we’ve seen would fit a king sized bed and that’s IT! nothing else would fit.
ETA: CORRECTION - most of the houses we've seen would FIT into the bedroom above

I will say this, it gets freakin' HOT in Dallas! And I would miss the seasons! They get 9mos of summer in TX and 3 months of mush!

 It really is SOOO not fair but I guess that's what we get for living 30 minutes away from the greatest city in the country.
I ALWAYS say that I wish I was born somewhere else (like Texas) and had all of my friends and family there - because it would make life so much easier! I would never move away from my family though.
