How long after an accepted offer does a house normally stay on MLS? At what point does it come off?

Re: MLS

They can keep it listed until it's sold. Some say "In Contract" on the site.

Re: MLS

usually not until the contracts are signed but it really depends on the agent.

Yes, with a traditional sale, once the contract is fully signed (by both parties), the listing office will change the status to "under contract [UC]" and it no longer shows as an available property on MLS. Until then, the house will show as available.

If it's a short sale and pending bank approval, then the house will still show as available.

But agents who call to make appointments to show houses that have accepted offers on them, but are not yet in fully in contract, will be told that the house "has a first accepted," or if the contract has been signed by the buyer, that "it's half signed." And at that point, a lot of people are not interested in showing it (and their customers don't want to see it), because they don't see them as truly available and don't want to waste time (and don't want to get into a bidding war, etc.).
