So sorry that happened to you - what jerks!
Did you put down a good faith deposit? Even though we like who we are dealing with, my father adviced us to ask about putting down a good faith deposit before investing in the inspection - just to stake our claim on a house.
That's def. dirty business - the closing date alone was ridiculous - it's impossible to close in less than a month!
That's really good advice and I appreciate your sharing that - definitely something to do in the future.

That really *****! I hate the way it works in NY in regards to that. In CT, the law is different and once you accept an offer, you sign a contract immediately and put a deposit down. You can't accept other offers during that time or you have to pay a % to the buyers.

I am so sorry you had to go through that!  DH and I were in somewhat of a similar situation-sellers went behind our back after we got an inspection and sold to someone else. We were SO upset.. and disappointed. We were so honest and up front and for a long time didn't look at anymore homes. In the end it works out and you will find the home of your dreams!!  DH and I have moved out of state due to his job situation-things def happen for a reason!! I wish you much luck in your search! You will def find something and when you do I am sure it will be gorogeous!!

I so sorry to hear that Ang - that's so shady.
I can't believe how many other people were misled! We were going into contract for a house and they passed so many lies - in the end we found out that the woman just needed a price to buy her soon to be ex-husband out 
You will find a better, nicer house!

There has been a house for sale across the street and now it is being sold by the owners directly, I am not sure what you are looking for price range and it needs some updating and work. FM mail me if u want the address. It is the the "Old Britton Estate section " of N Bellmore.

Oh wow, that is really low. I'm so sorry! In my opinion, the seller and/or the real estate agency should refund the money you paid for the inspection (since the inspector did his/her job and was innocent in the whole thing). I really hate how underhanded the real estate market can be. Buying a house is the biggest purchase you will ever make and all kinds of c rap goes on with it. I really wish it was regulated better. massapequa is 23 so is Wantagh.
Massapequa is Town Of Oyster Bay better perks than Town of Hempstead.
JMO Town Of Oyster has their Own beach also

Sorry to hear that happened! Hopefully the sellers get screwed in the end. We had a very, very similar situation happen to us. Our atty was able to get the seller to give us our money back for the inspection.

thats what I was thinking! Something much better will come along and you will be so happy your not stuck in that shady house. If such shady sellers owned that house I would be afraid of what I found out after I moved in.

I just wanted to let you know that the EXACT same situation happened to my husband and I last October. We had the inspection and all the contracts were delivered and at the 11th hour another bid came in. The seller made us both make final and best offers, so we said we would pay $500 more than what ever the other bid was for. We got the house, but it cost us about 10,000 more than what we had originally negotiated. The entire experience left a horrible taste in my mouth. I just wanted to offer you some s. Cause it was not fun.
