Basic Front Stoop replacement/refinish
Has anyone just had a basic front stoop replaced/refinished? if so how much around? Getting estimates this week but I want to get around about price.
Its roughly three steps cement top then brick around the edges then brick steps. Its covered by a old wood porch so I really can't see what exactly is going on but managed to crawl under and see many loose bricks and crumbling and our deck is about to fall apart.
you can kinda see it under here this was spring last year.

I think I would get the wood porch redoneand extend down a little further in front of that other window on the left - it would make a great sitting area

I agreee! You can even get PVC instead. That'll be alot of cement to fill that whole area if all the old stuff is crumbling so bad. Just building over it will def do the trick.

I would totally love that but eh I live on a semi-busy street we rarely sit out on the front. I feel to trashy staring at cars when they are stopped at the light. We have a porch on the back that we always use.

Just so people are informed i got one estimate and although I think the guy would do excellent work we simply can't afford $7,300 for a front stoop and walkway. I excepted that price for a double driveway (cement only) but I might be in lala land.
Basically he would use bluestone top, tumbled stone on the face and then the tumbled stone (pavers) on the walkway. He would remove all, take out stoop, dig out and repour-reinforce-flash, etc. The next estimates I am getting sticking with old school cement and brick.

I had mine done last year. He ripped out the old school brick stoop and the cement sidewalk. We had Cambridge stones put down and made it into a much bigger stoop.
My price was almost 1/2 your quote.
