massages

How late in your pregnancy is it okay to get a massage?

DH and I are going away in 3 weeks to our favorite place upstate that has a spa and we usually get massages there.

Additionally, my dad said he would pay for me to get a massage at Bliss.

I am 29 weeks. Do you think its possible to do both of these or should i just schedule the bliss massage for sometime soon and skip getting a massage on my trip?

Re: massages

With my last pregnancy I went for a massage at 36 weeks. It was heaven! I needed it with all the aches and pains that come towards the end.

Enjoy!

Re: massages

I got a massage at 40 weeks (a few days ago) and it was LOVELY!

your masseuse will need to have a separate set-up, not a special table or anything but special pillows. at 40 weeks I only lay on my side. . I think up until about 30, she had a pillow with space for my belly but then it got too big!

Re: massages

oh, I know its okay to get them and have gotten one already and it was heaven.

I am not looking forward to the laying on my side thing, is that awkward? the last one i got i was able to use the special pillow which was really nice.

I was looking for reassurance that there was nothing wrong with getting two massages rather close together. like at 32 weeks and then at like 35 weeks?

Nothing wrong with getting massages that close together, if you wanted to you, you could go weekly, even daily. Enjoy the relaxation. The place I went had a hole in the table for my belly. It was pretty comfortable.

Re: massages

oh sorry - misunderstood - I have been getting them weekly and feel like I would have been happy to have them daily!

Also I have been so relaxed on the side lying ones I've dozed off more than once!
