Convect vs Bake/Broil
Ok ladies how many of you (if you have a covection oven) use the convection over the bake or broil??? I never had a convection oven until now. We have a new home & a newly renovated kitchen. So im not sure which to use. I mean i alway sbake & broil. But what is Convect better for???
W/ pics of almost finished kitchen - although its complete now. lol Image Attachment(s):

Re: Convect vs Bake/Broil
We have an oven that bakes and broils, and a microwave that is also a convection oven. I use all of them.

I almost always use the convection. It just cooks more evenly and faster.

Re: Convect vs Bake/Broil
beautiful kitchen...love the ovens I use the convection oven over the bake/broil if I'm cooking anything that will be cooked longer that 30 min and in a shallow metal pan. Convection does not work as well in ceramic or glassware and is a really great feature when roasting meats.

Re: Convect vs Bake/Broil
My mom has a convection oven and her food always comes out nice and juciy and much faster.
Tip: do not use it to bake...it doenst yield the same results as if you used the bake feature on your oven.

Re: Convect vs Bake/Broil
I hardly ever use the convection, mostly because it feels like it takes forever to heat up. I agree w/the others who said that your food will cook more evenly w/convection, but I don't feel like it's much of a difference between convection and bake/broil. I probably won't even get another convection when I replace my current oven (which will hopefully be soon).
On a side note - your kitchen is gorgeous!!!!

Re: Convect vs Bake/Broil
For cooking every day; I always use Bake feature (or Broil). I dont ever use Convection unless Im cooking a decent size meat.
I use Convection Roast on Thanksgiving when I cook a Turkey. It cooks it so fast; and makes it so moist and juicy. Its cooks in less than half the time a regular oven would. If you host the holidays this year; use that feature! Your guests will not stop raving about it! And you wont have to get up at 6am to put the turkey in either.
Beautiful kitchen! Enjoy it!

Re: Convect vs Bake/Broil
I thought I read in my oven book that convection oven was for baking baked goods, vs meats or something else? So I have been using bake for chops, chicken, etc. But not sure if I am doing the right thing.
What does your oven book say?
