Ocean City Maryland

We are thinking of going in April. is there much to do or s it better to wait until after memorial day?

We had a house here growing up, and now my parents have a house in Bethany Beach, DE. Most of the restaurants and bars are open. The inside games on the boardwalk will be open, unsure about the rides. Many stores on the boardwalk will not be open. Obviously the water slides won't. Beaches won't be lifeguarded. Not sure about miniature golf, but there is one course inside. Of course, it's nicer in the summer, just watch the first few weeks of June as that is Senior Week and the place is filled with HS seniors. A great place for families is NorthSide Park, up around 125th St, when it's warm they have a lot of trails and playground equipment. The Convention Center is also often running fun stuff. There is a museum at the end of the boardwalk and a Ripleys. Bethany is not far, and is a quieter family based town, Rehobeth, past Bethany, has awesome outlets and DE is tax free shopping.

There is plenty to do there but IMO I would wait until after memorial day for the weather to be nicer so you can enjoy the beach, pool and all water activities. It will be cool in April and you prob. won't be able to do as much as you would want.

the season doesn't really start until after memorial day, so i would say it would be better to wait until then, unless you are looking for a more quiet atmosphere. either way, start looking into hotels now!
