February 1 QOTD

How has TTCing changed the relationship between you and your mom? If she knows, then it will be bilateral, if not, do you have a new found respect, love, admiration for her?

i don't think its really changed our relationship. I tell her whats going on especially since starting to see a RE, but I have always told my mom a llot.

My mom was a FTWM and I will be too. I always worry about balancing work and family and I don't want to spend too much time away from my children. But I think back on my childhood and while I know logically my mom was gone at work a lot, most of my memories involve us all doing things as a family. All of the important things, she was there. And I know now that must have been so much work for her to balance as best as she could. So I know that it's possible for me to do the same and I have so much more respect for her now.

ETA: My mom has no idea we're even thinking of TTC and I plan on leaving it that way

I am very close to my mom.. very, very close.. but I haven't told her about TTC yet. I'm not even preggo yet, but all the love I feel inside me, and I can't believe she has it for me.. had it for me.. it feels divine almost.

Of course, I haven't told her.. she'll just be like.. she'll be like, omg you preggo?!

i haven't spoken with my mom, she doesn't know that we're TTC. I'm sure she THINKS we are though. We always joke that she has "mommy radar."

it hasnt changed at all... except ttcing was a lot different when she was having babies than it is now... shes fascinated by OPK's.... luckily we havent talked about EWCM... i will have to draw the line there!

I haven't really told my mom we are ttc, but I'm pretty sure she knows (that whole "mother's intuition" thing). I say this because every time I turn down a drink she looks at my sideways w/a big grin and asks if I'm pregnant.

My mom had no idea we were TTC, so when I told her we were pregnant~she was shocked. Not happy…shocked. Even before we got married, she would always tell me not to have kids. So, it’s been a little awkward around her. Hopefully when the little animal (that’s what I’ve been calling him/her) is born, she’ll change her tune.

I haven't told my mom that we are TTC, although I am dying to. I think that I will keep it between DH and I anyway, unless we start having difficulty...then I'll probably want to tell my mom. I know that she will be great though. My mom is my biggest supporter and can't wait until we have kids, but isn't pushy which is so nice.

It has changed our relationship a lot. We used to be very close and I always felt comfortable telling her anything. When we first started TTC, it was fine. But when we moved on to an RE and all the treatments that were involved, I found out that she does not believe in IF Treatment. She is not a practicing Catholic, but she does have a strong faith in God, if that makes sense. She also broke the cardinal rule: The Just Relax and it will happen thing you don't tell a TTC.

Once we started with IUI's she completely shut me off. She stopped asking how we were doing, stopped wondering if the cycle was successful or not. At first I thought she was letting us tell her when we were ready if we were preg, but that is not the case. She is turned off by the process we are going through and in turn I am turned off by her lack of sensitivity.

My mom knows that we are trying. I was filling her in on all of the OPK kits and stuff (she had no idea-haha). Since then she doesnt ask or pry. I woulnd;t say it brought us any closer bc we are already extremely close. I think when I actually become pregnant things will change.

I haven't told her and I don't plan on telling her or anyone in my family. At least not any time soon.

I have a feeling she'd disapprove since we don't own a house even though she told me last week that she wants a baby in the family.
