natural vs. c-section experience?
i really want a natural birth but i hear that LIJ, northshore and many LI obs do more c-sections. has this been the case with you ladies? has anyone had an ob that really respected them having a natural birth plan?

Maybe look into a midwife.

I have a theory about this. More of my friends have delivered via C than vaginally, many times after being induced. My theory is that a dr. feels you out to see how you feel about a c. I believe a planned c cuts the risk of something going wrong, etc., for malpractice reasons, and if a dr. gets the feeling you're open to a C, you're getting one. I was very clear with my dr. from my 1st appt. that I wanted to deliver vaginally. He explained that the only reason I'd need a C, barring emergencies, was if the baby was breech or if I wasn't big enough to deliver him. I had a vaginal delivery and was so happy!
Anyway, this is totally my opinion and not based on any facts, research, etc...but since you asked

my friend had a breach and she got what was called aversion done to turn the baby around and then deliver vaginally, no c needed. i def hope that my ob will try their best to stick to natural, barring any med emergency... this is really interesting though~
