i had my apt with the ob/gyn today

im so glad i made the apt. i feel so much better and im so happy i went. I felt so comfortable when i left the doctor didnt blow me off because im under 30 and havent been trying for more then a year. she listened to everything i had to say and answered all my questions.

i had a cyst back in sept that they want me to follow up on. so i have a sono scheduled for monday.

as far as everything else.. she said normally it takes about a year and that they wouldnt do any infertility testing till after we have been trying for a full 12 months. BUT that she would like for me to go for blood work to check my hormone levels on day 3 of my next cycle. the next step is if after we make it to the 12 motnh mark to send DH for a SA and to go for that test where they shoot the dye and check the fallopian tubes but she said that its very invasive and she wouldnt like to do that untill necessary which i agreed.

she wants me to continue using the OPKs and said im getting + ones so thats a good sign and my ovulation pains follow along with the + test so thats good. and to hang in there and see how mondays sono goes!

moral of the story.. if your unsure or worried or have questions make the call... dont hold offf from getting your questions answered because you dont fit the "rule of thumb" you will feel so much better after you talk to the doctor. i have a bit of regained hope! and reallylooking forward to getting a move on this cycle!

Glad to hear you had a good appt. But please don;t let her make you think the dye test (HSG) is invasive. I have had more test and proceedures done to my lady parts over the years and the HSG was one of the least invasive of all of them.

If do get to the 12 month mark (I hope you dont). Push to have the test. It is soemthing that will take 1/2 hr and can answer more than jsut is there a blockage. THe Dr was also able to tell if my small fibroid was an issue. Its a very worthwhile test!

so glad you posted this.. put my mind at ease too!!! Im going to hold off till the 12 month mark too before I go for further testing!! Hope we dont make it that far though!!!!
