Temping Question- Times must be the same?
This is my first month temping... the first 5 days I woke up at the same time (weekday). My temp was the same. On Sat & Sun I woke up late (4-5 hours later than the first 5 days) and took it and it spiked. It went from 97.5 to 98.1 and Sun 98.0. I know I didn't O because it was only cd 6 & 7. Mon I went back to my 6 am temping and I got normal numbers again 97.7 then today 97.4 Did I mess up my chart?
Thanks for helping.

you're really supposed to take it at the same time every day. it's annoying but since i get up at 6am some days, i have to get up at 6am every day to temp. if i don't need to get up on a particular day, i'll just go back to sleep and jot my temp on a post-it next to my bed.

it doesn't work if you don't take it at EXACTLY the same time everyday
your best bet is to set it to the time you need to be up for work, and it stinks on the weekends, but you can just go back to bed.
you can't accurately track your cycle if its not the same time, it won't work

Thank you! I will set the alarm for 6 on the weekends too
Is it too late to continue to temp this month or is it ok since it was so early in my cycle?

FF website will just say that its harder to determin a few things because 1 or more temps were taken at a later time
you will still get some of the benefits from this cycle. it will also help you get it perfect for your next, if you have a next cycle!

They say your temp goes up about .2 degrees for every hour you oversleep. That number seems pretty accurate in your case.
You didn't mess up your chart. One or two aberrant numbers don't mean anything. You're looking for patterns and trends. Just try to take it at the same time every day from now on (weekends too! Just take the temp and then roll over and go back to sleep) and you're all good.

it doesnt have to be exact, it just should be within 30 mins of your normal time.
but if you woke up 4-5 hours late that wont work. im a light sleeper so i was able to train myself to naturally wake up around the right time on weekends, take the temp, then go back to bed until whenever. i kept the thermometer in very close distance so i barely had to move to get it. i just would turn it on, temp, wait for it to beep and then roll over and go back to bed!

This Its a pain but I also wake up at 6 am on the weekends to temp and then go back to sleep. I've actually fallen asleep with it in my mouth, only to be woken up by the beeping thermometer. lol I dont temp for hte first 6 days of my cycle though (you dont need to temp when you have AF) so at least I get a break there :)
Good luck!
