I don't dislike, but I don't know how to pronounce it. I also immediately think of birds, which isn't a bad association.

thats actually a good point...
BUT... just a fwiw type of thing... my aunt and uncle went through a zillion names for my cousin and said no they will call him this or they will call him that... they ended up naming him Douglas... and THEY (they being my aunt and uncle) call him Doug the bug...

That's like my DH LOVES the name Darren...I like it but so many people give me  when I tell them that it makes me weary.
I don't want my kid to have a name the majority hates, kwim?

i think everyone's going to hate something. if you like it, thats whats important. once they see darling little aviana (rose?), everyone's going to fall in love no matter what.

I LOVE it! There is a poster with a DD named Aviana. I'm not sure what her middle name is, but I think Rose does sound really nice with it!
