Baby name question? Middle name…
Are you going to be giving your LO a middle name. Why or why not?
I keep going back and forth about it.

yes.. our kiddies will have a middle name.. i like the way the it sounds and its part of our culture as well to have 3 or sometimes 4 names.. so we shall see

yes, IDK why...I have one, my bro had one. DH doesnt and I know it annoys him. I think its just preference.

Thanks for the responses ladies. I have a middle name, DH doesn’t. Part of me wants to give one, but it’s hard enough coming up with one name, let alone two

Yes everyone in both our families does. I have my mother's maiden name and that is what we will most likely do particularly if it is a girl. My sister has my mother's first name as her middle name and my DH has his father's first name as his middle name.

Mostly everyone I know has a middle name... I have one friend whose middle name is an initial only. I like them to sorta punctuate your name...

ugh, i'm not even pregnant yet and DH and i have argued several times about this already! I have a middle name and he doesn't. I like the way it sounds and would really like our child to have one because it's part of our culture, etc. plus it would help us use 2 family names instead of just 1! unfortunately, DH insists that our child will not have a middle name because they are stupid and are hardly used. he also said he liked being different from others by not having one.
i've talked about this with friends and they tell me i'm the mom and i should get what i want. that i should just write a middle name on the birth certificate when the time comes. i feel bad about it now, but we'll see what happens when the time comes! aren't you glad you asked me about this

this was us too! I couldn't use my middle name on the invitation because it didn't look right with my 2 names and just 1 for DH. i was really upset i couldn't have my full name on there because i like my name!

I don't have a middle name so whenever I think about naming LOs, I never think of middle names. We have our top names picked and as of now, we aren't planning on middle names.
