So I've been feeling a bit down on myself

Had a baby in March, joined WW in August, did pretty well the first few months. I was well on my way to losing at LEAST 25 lbs by Christmas, and that was me being modest with my estimations based on how well I was doing.

And then, well, I stopped tracking (nothing seems convenient, wish the freakin BB app would come out! The iPhone app is soooo nice, this is what DH uses) and then the plan changed and I still haven't gotten on board with calculating new points.

As of the new year, I have only lost 19 or so lbs. Chat Icon And I have A LOT, I mean a LOTTTT more to lose. Seriously.

But then I realized something else... I've lost way more than those ~20 lbs. From the day I gave birth to the new year, I have actually lost 53 lbs! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon That makes me feel SO much better. Granted, 33 of those lbs were baby weight, but who cares. It was on me. And I know LOTS of people that take years to get JUST the baby weight off.

So that made me feel a lot better Chat Icon

I still have a long way to go. I need to find my motivation again to track every bite and go to a meeting every week. WW works for me, but I need to work it.

Any tips to get me back in the swing of things? I want to be a hot mama Chat Icon

Re: So I've been feeling a bit down on myself

You sound a lot like me. I was doing great back at ww while I was on maternity leave. Went back 2 weeks after DS was born. Came back to work and I haven't been tracking at all!!

I definitely have to attend meetings to stick with the program. I am going back to one (finally) this saturday.

No other tips except for that. There is magic in the meetings!!! Chat Icon

PS You already are a hot mama! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: So I've been feeling a bit down on myself

Here is my tip Yesi:

Give yourself credit EVERY DAY for the progress you made!!! I saw you a few weeks ago and you look great! Since we do see each other every month or so, I have to say firsthand that the progress since DS was born is obvious and you are gorgeous! When you feel good about yourself, you will be motivated to do the right thing.

I know for me, when I get down on myself, I make excuses about exercise and poor decisions that day. When I feel good about myself, I find that I will take the time to exercise. I will make a healthy meal choice.

Being our babies were born the same week and are going to get married one day, I think I am qualified to say that you should pat yourself on the back!

I am in the same boat as you. This is one of the hardest things I've ever done. Pregnancy and c/s messes up your body BAD. A personal trainer I am friends with told me that first, you have to appreciate the trauma we put on our bodies less than a year ago. He also said that we should aim for 75% compliance weekly. Meaning that if you have a day where you forget to count or overdo it because of teething misery, exhaustion, whatever, don't beat yourself up. Just count the next day.

This is why we have LIF and FB. We are here to motivate each other!

The other motivator that works to get me on track is knowing that it is only a matter of time, and probably sooner rather than later that Henry and Sienna will be running around. So any day I feel lazy, I remind myself and remind myself that I want to be healthy for her.

If you want, I am more than happy to help you and we can team up and help each other be accountable!

Hijacking your thread Yesi.

Azad-we have to GTG now that the holidays are over to exercise! Yesi, if you want to come out to the boonies where we are, that would be fun to do a nice walk together!

I could wrote this word for word last January, and yet again this January also.

I started WW in July 2009 and by October I had lost 21lbs. The the holidays came and I stopped losing but pretty much maintained give or take 1 or 2 lbs depending on the week. Then in Feb 2010 DS got really sick & I stopped WW. Within 2 months I gained 8 lbs back. I joined again in April and between April & October 2010 I lost another 17lbs. Then the holiday came again and I have since gained back almost 10 lbs. Chat Icon

So now I am pretty much back to where I was last April. I have been on WW since July 2009 and I have only lost 21lbs. I also have a LOT more to lose (~60lbs) and I feel like I should have lost it all by now. This week has been crazy for me so I have not really been tracking. But by February when things quiet down some at work I plan to focus on this more. DH just upgraded to the iphone4 so I took his old 3GS and I love having the app to use. on the blackberry you can use the mobile site to track. That is what I used when I had my blackberry.

Anyway I want to be a HOT MAMA too! So let's do it together!!!!

Ugh Yesi! I soooo feel your pain.

I was doing great on WW. From May-Oct I lost 20lbs. My goal was 30lbs.

I didn't want to look pregnant at Tyler's first birthday. With the help of Spanks and a really tight fitted shirt I didn't look pregnant!

After that day, it all went downhill. There was always an excuse for me not to track points.

That's it. As of Monday I am back on the WW horse. I NEED to lose these last ten pounds if I am going to have another baby someday. I NEED to lose at least five pounds before my fat *** goes on a cruise in February.

Bite the bullet and sign up online again. Start tracking. It really does work, and you know this because of the great success you've had.

You hit a little bump in the road, but you can easily get back on track! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: So I've been feeling a bit down on myself

Thanks everyone! I was kinda feeling silly about posting this and was about to come back to delete it when I saw all these great responses!

Thank you!

I'd love to keep in touch with whoever wants motivation since I need it myself too! FM me if you like!!! I don't check back on Diet & Fitness TOO often, but maybe I should Chat Icon

Today I had chicken and veggies for lunch (yay for healthy leftovers!) and then had a twix, lol. I haven't had one in many, many months. I threw away the wrapper without even attempting to figure out points.

So, I am now going to get it, figure out the points, and track it. I have to start tracking now, not tomorrow or next week.

And I need to drink more! I barely drink anything throughout the day sometimes. So that's another resolution of mine.
