Would you trust your body over an OPK?
I am just totally confused. I got what I thought was EWCM for the first time since stopping BCP about 4mths ago. Got it 2 days ago but no smiley yet... I did on the day of the EWCM but Im just baffled because I always get my smiley when Im suppose to and this month, nada.. Im upset because every other month I get a smiley but no EWCM then this month I get EWCM but no smiley what the heck! Anyway, would it be safe to say that its best to trust your body over an OPK?

I think EWCM can come right before an OPK positive test. So maybe you'll O in a day or 2? There have been times I have had EWCM on CD 7 & 8 and then O on CD 10.

I tend to get EWCM at random times. I would keep testing and just to be safe.

I agree. BDing is always a good solution. Last month we didnt pay attention to much just a lot between cd8 and cd14 and that worked, it just didnt stick. Thats my answer now whenever DH asks when we should ...i just tell him a lot. its fun too!

temping is the be-all-end-all. i think if you have EWCM, then you should get busy but like PP said, i have had CM at a lot of random times and then gotten a smiley over a week later and confirmed O with temp after that.
but it never hurts to

I was temping and trusting my body when I got a BFP. If I trusted my OPK which never gave me a I would not have conceived! Good Luck!

Re: Would you trust your body over an OPK?
BCP can throw off your CM for a year or more. The pills do something to the part of your body that produces CM and can cause you to have no CM at all or extremely fertile looking CM when you're not fertile. I forget the details, but it's all in "Taking Charge of your Fertility."
The problem is, you can't trust OPKs either. Sometimes you get false positives (like with PCOS) and sometimes you get false negatives (the surge is sometimes under 24 hours long, so if you happen to test at a time of day when it's not happening, you might think it never happened).
So the best thing to do would be to bd every other day until you get that temperature rise. Good luck!

Re: Would you trust your body over an OPK?
Thank you ladies. Im not sure how much more we can do. Its truly exhausting esp. when DH has been working insane hours due the the holidays. Im not going to stress this month because of that. If it happens great, if not we will try again in the next month when things are back to normal and not as chaotic. Thanks again ladies!

Re: Would you trust your body over an OPK?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Trust your body!!
The month we got pregnant, we alot-like almost every day between CD's 9-21.
Well we more than covered our bases-and thankfully we did because the OPK I was using-never worked!!!!!!!! I was using the FROPK, and NEVER got the darker line to indicate ovulation.
Basically I was terrible at POAS, plus I drink so much water all the time, that I was constantly diluted.
SO the moral of the story is......cover your bases and know that OPK's are far from errorproof.
Good luck!

Re: Would you trust your body over an OPK?
Same thing happened to me last month!!! I had heavy CM on CD 10 but no smiley yet. I did get a smiley though on CD 12 - but was still confused as to which was correct? We did it 3 days in a row but were unsuccessful. I think this month we will just BD every other day to be safe.

Did you start doing it 3 days in a row once you saw the heavy CM or when you got your smiley?
