Starting to Panic a little bit.

I just came back from my honeymoon (it was a BLAST), but I was due to get my period on the 2nd. I still haven't gotten it, and no BFP either.

DH and I are now on our 4th cycle of trying and it's starting to concern me a little. I am trying not to think about it, but I can't help but wonder if I'm going to be one of those people. Chat Icon

Another question, where is this preseed lube everyone is talking about? I went to rite aid, walgreens, cvs, nothing....am I not looking in the right spot? I'm too chicken to ask the clerks where it is. I don't know why. lol.

Try not to work yourself up over things. I know that is so hard (nearly impossible) but if you scroll down a bit to some posts from Friday, there is only a 25% chance in perfect conditions of getting PG. You just have to keep hoping and trying. As for pre-seed, I think you order it online. That is what I did- never even looked in the stores. Good luck! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm not using any packs. I count my days on a calender and circle the days we should be trying. I switched to whole milk instead of fat free (I heard the heavier the dairy the better chances you have, if that is not true, someone tell me ASAP).

My cycles are a tiny bit off. I was due for AF on December 2nd, on my honeymoon, it held off til December 6th.

I am "one of those people". So next time please choose words carefully.

As someone who has been trying for 14 months, I wouldnt panic at 4 if you aren't using OPKs, temping and doign just about everything under the sun. Once you are doing all that and it still isnt working...then panic.

When you have PCOS, known for a while, and been told this may or may not present a problem when it comes time to conceive, whether you're 4 months in or 14, you feel a certain way. Please don't make me feel worse than I already do. Everyone has a different level a panic.

I'm not trying to make you feel bad but there are tons "of those pepole" on here and by using those words you are makign people feel bad. We are all on a very sesivtive journey and wehn some of us are on an extended journey we dont need to be called "one of those people". I might be overly sesivtive but when you have been here for this long you will be too.

ITA with this part, I would step it up a notch with using OPK's and temping.

I know you didn't mean any harm by your "one of those people" , everyone here has a different TTC journey and I have learned through these boards how sensitive and hurtful things can be for people who have struggled with fertility , even though the person who may not realize how it sounds...I am guilty of this as well.
I think PP was trying to point it out to you not to make you feel worse, just aware .

I really want to explain what I meant by "those people". There was an incident I witnessed over the weekend and it just left me so disappointed with human society, that people who have what you want mistreat it; while you know you'd never ever do those things if given the chance. Kinda has me a little envious and depressed, and I cannot help feeling the way I do. And I know it's entirely wrong to make an assumption on outside people you don't know, but if you saw what I saw, you'd be disappointed too. Also, I wish doctors wouldn't be so, harsh, when explaining things to you. "You have PCOS, you're gonna have issues". Thanks doc, I appreciate the 'good luck'. (said doctor was immediately replaced and the one I have now is a lot more on a level I can handle).

It just breaks my heart to see a parent mistreat there child in public; and you can't do anything about it. They can argue you're not a parent and don't know a thing, but come on, common sense, save the disciplinary actions for private time. I ended up walking out of the place I was because I couldn't handle the emotion (could be cuz AF came right at that time, so you know, hormones are everywhere. But you see where I'm coming from? Can you understand me a little better? Have you ever witnessed something like that and tell yourself you'd never be like that if you ever had the chance?

I am deeply sorry if I was offensive, I didn't mean too. Perhaps I should have explained what happened that drew up this post - but it had me boiled inside. I know, 4 months, whoop-dee-doo, I'd probably think the same way. I didn't think I'd be like this so soon into trying.

DH prefers the "wing it" method and seeing the doctor regularly. He finds counting days, OPK pacts and other methods are going to drive me more crazy and to save the money. He kinda has a point, I don't wanna make the BDing go from enjoyable to boring. But still, I want some kind of help.

And I have to give some of this right back. Again, I am so sorry if I sounded whiny and insensitive, and I hope my little story shed some kind of light.

I ordered my preseed through amazon.

I'm confused, you have PCOS? If so, I would think you should be seeing an RE to at least see what is going on. You might not be ovulating, thus making it impossible to get pregnant. Also, if you aren't using OPKs or anything else, how would you know which days you should be BDing?

Counting days on a calender, and some pain. I just got put on new health ins. so that's pretty much what I'm looking up now. Any Suffolk County RE recommendations????

Re: Starting to Panic a little bit.

I would definitely get the OPK's to start...we were so against it but it has changed my life now and I love them! I only used them 1 cycle so far but it is so great to see the smiley and know we are doing it at the right time (hopefully, lol!) Charting it good too but you may ovulate on different days each month so it is not 100% effective you know?

I really would not get bummed yet. I think it takes most couples 6-12 months to conceive. Just remember the chances of getting pregnant during a cycle is something low like 20%.

is it entirely wrong of me to go against Dh's wishes and buy an OPK anyway?

Honestly......don't involve DH in the details of TTC. That might sound horrible but my DH knows about health issues and stuff like that but I don't talk about OPKs, Temping and testing with him. Otherwise Chat Icon will start to seem like a chore rather than fun. If you have PCOS then you should temp. OPKs will not tell you if you ovulate....you can get a + OPK and still not ovulate.

Also, if you are panicing now.....this site can make it worse. This is the best and worst thing all at the same time. I limit my time on here cause after 14 months it can be hard to see people come and go. It can be great cause you will learn a lot. All I can say if buckle your seatbelt cause TTC is the bumpiest ride I have ever been on. Soem days its great and the next you will be in tears.

Hope this helps and sorry if I jumped on you for the comment but if you should happen so stay around as long as I have been here (which i really hope you don't) you will understand how sensitive we can get.

Thanks Chat Icon

DH is a pain sometimes. I think BIL puts too many ideas in his head. I'm making sure he's at my next OBGYN appointment so he can hear from a professional stand point what's going on and what we should be doing. I don't see how taking a temperature is 'crazy' according to him.

Re: Starting to Panic a little bit.

as someone with pcos for me opks were a waste of time...now in saying that i still use them ..why cause i am nuts lol..

even if u get a smiley which i never have in 8 months..it means u should be ovulating not that u r..and with pcos there is a good chance u r not

temping is the only way to actually see if u r..

i would also talk to a doc or re cause they might want to do other things if u r not ovulating on ur own cause no matter when u have sex or how much if there is no egg it wont matter

its so frustrating..trust me i know..but there r ways to help

Anyway, if you have PCOS they may not be accurate , I am not too familiar with PCOS, but from what I have seen they can give false readings ( not 100% sure on that, on this planet I am not a drChat Icon )

ITA 100% keep DH out of it. I learned so much from this board. I didn't temp but i did use OPKs and they were terrific. one month I tried to get DH more involved and it totally ruined Chat Icon and put way too much pressure on him. the next month I didn't say a word and I got my bfp.
