Has anyone had an IUI alone?
My DH is unable to go with me to my 2nd IUI because of work obligations ...has anyone gone alone? If your DH couldn't make it did you bring someone for support?

My DH was always required at my IUIs. He would go in 1 - 2 hrs before me to have his sperm washed and prepped before my IUI.
Unless I'm missing something, I would think your DH is an integral part to the procedure.

Unless I'm missing something, I would think your DH is an integral part to the procedure.
yes, he is producing the semen sample and then has to run to work, (he is going in a little late to work) so he won't be there for the actual IUI itself an hour later.

My DH only made it to one out of the three IUIs that we had. He would go in the morning and donate and then head on to work. Thank God I was more flexible than him otherwise nothing would get done!  His job is way too demanding so I had to do almost evrything on my own, even the initial consulation. I did just fine though, but then again I'm pretty independent and everybody's different.

that is pretty much me too, I have done consults, HSGs all that stuff alone. He did come to the first IUI but the scheduling didn't allow him to be there this time - same thing, work obligations that he couldn't miss. thanks for responding

 I wouldnt stress over it. If u feel u need ur dhsupport then call him on the phone. I would rather DH save time off for when its REALLY needed(fingers crossed)

DH has only been with me when i've had an IUI scheduled on the weekend, otherwise he just drops off his sample and heads to work.
There's no reason for the two of us to have to miss work for it - its really not that big of a deal and is over and done with in a few minutes.
But that's me speaking after 6 IUI's
I do think he was there with me for the first one because we didn't know what to expect and it was a bigger deal for us then
now its old hat 
it's all about your comfort level though since you're the one doing it!

thanks ladies! You are right, he doesn't need to miss work just to sit there and watch. I feel better knowing that I won't be the only one who has had to go alone

My last IUI before we moved to IVF. DH couldn't be there for the 2nd one as he had to be out of town on business. He just left them a sample and I went myself. It was really no big deal. It's a 2 minute procedure.

Dh wasnt always with me for my IUI's...it will be fine. Its so quick anyways - it will be over before you know it. Best of luck to you!!!!!

My DH couldn't stay for the IUIs during the cycle I got pregnant. It was fine...We like to think that we got pregnant with the  we did after the IUIs were done

thank you everyone for your responses. I did have my 2nd IUI last night and I was fine going alone, I thought I would feel bad that DH was not there but it was very quick and I was out shortly thereafter.
