Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

I'd love to lose a few more pounds before I get preggers. I've lost a few and definitely toned up over the last year, but with the holidays coming I really need to keep on track and would love to drop a few more. Anyone else going through this?

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

We are still 6 months out from wanting to try and I lurk here all the time just so I know what's going on before we TTC officially.

I plan to be at my skinniest hopefully when we TTC.

We purchased What to Expect; Eating Well when your expecting a couple of weeks ago. I am looking forward to reading that because I heard that plenty about eating well in this book. I am still reading another what to expect book. We have three what to expect books and they are very helpful.

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

I cannot stop eating blue cheese! It is my favorite and I am really going to miss it so I eat it every chance I can!

But other than that I do try to eat well and always exercise! I am happy with my weight right now. Would love to be down a few more but not stressing over it bc it is the holidays and I always gain a bit, LOL!

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

i gained a lot of weight after going off BCP because of PCOS. While, I would looove to lose the weight before getting preggers I also don't want to put off getting pregnant to lose the weight. If i lose the weight in the meantime then great, but if i get preggers first then thats even better :)

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

Just be careful not to loose it too fast or over exercise. Anything drastic will change your cycle.

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

It would be nice to lose some more weight, but having a healthy pregnancy is waaaaay more important and I don't want to wait anymore. I'm trying to quit smoking too so its extra hard.... but its all going to be worth it.

I understand what you are saying about enjoying yourself but I think before I put some more weight on to my body, I would like to shed a few pounds.

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

I'm at my heaviest right now, not sure if it's TTCing or just me thinking well I shouldn't start a diet now. It's so stupid! If I don't get a BFP in December , I'm starting WW in January, I swear!, I'll just pay weekly.

Re: Pre-babymaking diet/fitness

I really hate looking at my wedding photos sometimes because I feel like I look like such a blimp and since then, I've put on 17 lbs. Chat Icon I DO NOT want to look at pics of me with my new baby and be distracted by my flabby arms or multiple chins. Chat Icon

I have been working out at least 3 times a week and am essentially following a weight watchers lifestyle.

I have also heard that if you exercise pre-pregnancy, you can exercise during pregnancy which can make for an easier delivery. That's motivating too. I can hardly tolerate my monthly cramping so God knows how I'll handle labor.

I'm also trying to eat more organically and less animal proteins.
