Green Tea and affect on folic acid...
I was just reading on the pregnancy board that Green Tea can affect the absorbtion of folic acid! Has anyone else heard this? I googled and found a few articles.
PS - I love green tea and drink it every day but may cut back, booo.

Yes. I did remember reading this. I would definitely cut back. Maybe just a cup a day.

A cup a day is fine. Any of those studies were done on women drinking 6+ cups a day!

Really interesting! Well I am going to try to cut back to like only like 2 cups a week, booo.
I usually have green tea 5-6 days a week and also sometimes chamomille at night!

My OB either said to cut back or avoid it, I can't remember (not while TTC, just while I was pregnant) .. In them meantime, I avoided.
ETA: I was never much a green tea drinker in the first place so I wasn't impacted much by this advice! I'm sure once in a while it's FINE!

Found this. I had no idea about chamomile!

I've been drinking roobios tea. It is supposed to be very safe, and is actually considered a pregnancy tea in South Africa. Image Attachment(s):
