HPT problem
Ladies, I mentioned earlier that I had bought these cheap internet dip HPTs. Well I was so excited b/c I figured I could test every day. So I get a negative test today, but decided to look back at Amazon b/c they didn't look like the tests in the ad. It turns out they switched the tests from early response to regular ones. Plus in some of the reviews people said they kept getting negative tests even though they were pregnant. Previous reviews were positive, my tests shipped 10/23. If I look at post 10/23 reviews, 1 person got a BFP at 12 DPO, but 2 people said they kept getting BFNs, even after getting BFPS on other tests. Tomorrow is 10 DPO, should I keep trying with these tests or buy FRERs??? Ugh! These were meant to save money!

I think I got the same shipment as you. Last time I ordered the internet cheapies they looked different than the previous shipment. It also didn't say EARLY detection on the foil package and I was Are yours in pink individual packs or white?

Re: HPT problem
A pink/lavender wrapper. Did you read any reviews? One person said she was getting BFNs even though she was pregnant, up to when AF was 4 days late.

I just read the review. It sucks that they would send regular ones and try and pass them off as early detection I have the mind to write a nasty review now.
I wouldn't use them at 10DPO. Either try and hold of till you are late or maybe get a FRER. Totally sucky!!
ETA: I have the pink/lavender ones too.

Re: HPT problem
I'm going to try at 12 DPO and then if they are still a BFN, I'll buy a FRER.

Are you going to buy another kind. I got a BFN on 9 dpo and 10 dpo. Obviously this very well might not be our month, but I want to know. My plan is to wait till Tuesday (12 dpo) and then buying a FRER.

Re: HPT problem
I bought a big pack of sticks a few months ago and I'm still using them. I never thought that if they weren't "early result" that they'd be useless before AF was due! Mine are in blue packets and just say "urine pregnancy test" on them.
Now I'm trying not to get any false hope. I'm at CD 35 (usually getting AF around now) but I've been on so many meds for an infection that I think my cycle's just wacky. No signs of AF but I've gotten only BFNs.

This is what I should do I know, but my parents are visiting us Thursday- Sunday and AF is due Friday, so I'd like to prepare myself. Uggh! Not sure what to do.

Re: HPT problem
you def shouldnt test this early with ANY test. furthermore i think the "Early detection" tests are just a marketing gimmic. many line tests are sensitive to an HCG level of about 25, meaning you need a beta of 25 for anything to show on the tests. this varies by test but even the early ones dont seem to be much more or much less sensitive than that.
if you are testing early you should just use FRER but wait til an appropriate test day (at minimum 10DPO or later, preferably 12DPO) if you want semi-reliable results.

I know you are right, and I didn't even think they were early detection tests. I'm more upset b/c some people said they never worked.
