Holding out for a little longer....

DH and I made a plan to start TTC in May/June, figuring I'd stop taking BCP some time the end of April or beginning of May. Two of our friends recently had babies and I guess we're both getting the "itch" to start earlier than our planned date.

However, I am out of work right now, and realllllly wanted to have a job before starting to TTC. DH is also in the process of re-finishing part of our basement so we can move the office downstairs and make room for baby, and we wanted to have that all done and set before as well.

Have any of you had a set date that you wanted to start trying, but got the bug to start earlier?? Did you end up waiting or just starting when you got the urge?

I set a random arbitrary date in my mind to start, discussed with DH and we decided to move things up a few months and set a "real" start date. However, I did end up getting the itch earlier. We are most likely starting 2 months earlier than the date we set, although we did still wait a while after we first started getting itchy because there were things we wanted to happen before TTC, no matter how itchy we were. now that those events have passed, I am going off the pill.

We waited till we were married for a year. I wanted to TTC earlier, and we are on month 4 now so I wish we had, but in the long run, it was nice to have that year together.

I had the bug for about 8 months before we started.

We waited until the timeframe we initailly agreed upon. (2 year anniversary)

That was NOT my decision DH was not budging. Now that we are in that time frame, he still has a hard time comprehending.

I am ready to start now but DH wants to wait till the New Year. Its not that long to wait and I'm not complaining its just ubber annoying b/c who know how long it will take for BFP????????????????

We were considering waiting longer until we buy a house (hopefully buy a house in a year), and until my husband gets a job. That is when he wants to actively start trying. But we both want a baby so bad, so we are not preventing anymore and whatever happens, happens!

Such a big part of me wants to throw plans out the window and just see what can happen if I go off BCP....DH soooooo wants to have a baby NOW, but I'm trying to wait!! We've been married a year this month and we bought a house last year...the only thing we're missing is a job for me!

We started way earlier then anticipated; I feared it would take a long time to get a BFP so we started earlier. We have only been trying for 2 months.

When we got married we said we would wait 2 years (well, actually my DH said that- I was all for trying whenever he gave the word ) Ultimately, we ended up trying 8 months sooner than planned because my DH finally got the urge to start.

We planned to wait to start trying late spring/summer after our two year anniversary (this coming January). I have the itch far more than DH (hence my lurking on this board ) So I should be joining officially here in 6-8 months. I cant wait, but I understand him wanting to hold out a bit longer, we want a new car. He's trying for a promotion/new job so there's a lot involved.

we were going to wait 2 years. Then we said after this new year. Then here was are!

we were married about 10 months when we bought our house in FL and moved from NY. we knew that we would need some time to work on the house and get settled and we weren't in any rush - our focus was our house.

when we actually moved we said maybe we would try the following June - we figured 9 months was enough time to get things done in the house plus we'd still have the other 9 while i was pregnant...but June came and we both were not ready yet

in June we decided that another 6 months sounded good - we figured we'd start going for it in December for our 2 year wedding anniversary...

but since June we finished a lot of projects and we both really started getting the itch. so we said November then we ended up trying this month even though i just stopped bcps (i was going to wait until december and give my body 3 months)...

but we did think we'd try earlier and did not. i'm glad we were on the same page about it. we both were not ready and that made it easy to wait it out a little longer. i know sometimes couples can't agree on a timeframe and i'm sure that could be frustrating. luckily we both wanted to start trying when we did.

We planned to wait 2 years after we were married. I had my sister's wedding back in July so I knew I wanted to wait until at least after her wedding. Well it wasn't much too long after!!! I got my BFP on our 2 year anniversary!
