DH is an uncle to 3 nieces and 1 nephew. He is nothing short of amazing with them. In fact he's better with them then their fathers. And he's not just good when it's fun time. He changes diapers, feeds, puts to sleep the whole nine. I cannot even explain how much these kids love him. They not only like to play with him but when we're around he's the one they go to when they are hurt, don't feel good or are sleepy and want a lap to curl up on.
Basically, he's a dad that just needs a child of his own. That's how I know he's ready.

he talks about wanting to be a dad pretty openly. he actually puts my mind at ease when i'm feeling panicky about the responsibility & sacrifice. he's also a great helper

He made it clear to me while we were dating that he wants to be a dad. He doesnt out right and talk about it but I just know, yknow? Whenever I get nervous about it hes always so reassuring and calms me down. Hes great

DH is great with kids!! our nephews, my cousins kids he is like amazing with them! i think cuz he is a big kid himself so he can relate with them lol!
i think something just clicked in him tho..we started trying earlier than planned and ever since we had the mc i and 100% positive he is ready!

DH has talked about it before we got married. He wanted to try right away but I wanted us to have time as a married couple first. I also watch him with his nephew and he is going to be such a great dad. I can't wait and I know he can't either.

To be honest, my DH is very immature! BUT he was so excited when I was PG for 2.5 months earlier this year. And now he gets really said when AF comes. I think he is ready to be a family man but it is tough to act the part without the family!

He never really committed to being ready until I forced it out of him. I wasn't ready for a long time (over 3 years married) and I think he didn't want me to feel pressured or have my opinion swayed earlier than I was ready. So he gave me some time. Once I said I was ready... he was kind of like "FINALLY!!!" lol

He is great with our neice and nephew.
Seeing him interact with them makes my heart melt. We just had them over for 4 days - a 4 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. Those kids were non stop from 6am to 9pm and my husband was amazing with them even when he was exhausted (with 2 young kids in the house it felt like we were going 24/7). I saw a father in him more than ever while they were here. Between getting the stroller everytime it was needed, buckling them up in the carseat, carrying them to bed, preparing meals for them, playing with them in the house, in the pool, giving up the TV for them to watch Scooby Doo , basically being at their beck and call - and he did it all so effortlessly.
Honestly, I think he will be a better father than I will a mother. He is more selfless than I am.
While the kids were over I kept saying, "I don't know if I am as ready as I thought I was, having these kids around is making me question myself - if I can do it" and when I would ask him he would say he was still ready. I expected a few days non stop with 2 kids in the house would scare him but it didn't - it scared me though!

It's weird bc I got it in my head to start trying, then I retracted. Then he got it in his head (which was cute) but then he pulled back bc I pulled back. Then a few months went by and now we are both on the same page!!!
