where do you get your recipes from?
You ladies have all wonderful ideas and I was just wondering where you get your recipes from. Do you research them? Are they passed down to you? Or do you create your own? I am not really the best cook and I want to be better, but right now all I can really cook is chicken. Thanks.

Re: where do you get your recipes from?
My favorite site is allrecipes.com...I get a lot of recipes from there.
Also, I follow Weight Watchers, so I use recipes from their magazine.
And finally, cookbooks. I love love love to cook and have about 20 vegetarian cookbooks. If you don't want to buy one before trying it, just check it out at your library

Re: where do you get your recipes from?
Various blogs Food Magazines that I subscribe to Epicurious Foodnetwork.com Web Searches
I usually get the inspiration from a recipe and then work from there. Sometimes I'll eat something in a restaurant and try to replicate it at home too - if it's really good I'll ask for a recipe, but if they won't give it or don't have it I will do my best to identify the flavors.

Re: where do you get your recipes from?
Mostly Taste of Home...
I like simple recipes that don't call for random ingredients or spices.
My picky DH loves this casserole.
Also allrecipes.com.
I am a beginner cook so I'm no help if you're looking for gourmet ideas.

Mostly allrecipes.com. I love that you can sort the recipes by their ratings and that many have hundreds of ratings. How can you go wrong with a recipe that has been rated 5 stars by a thousand people!
I also use the foodnetwork site but it's definitely not as easy to browse.

Re: where do you get your recipes from?
I create my own and get others from a few of the cookbooks that I have.
My aunt also taught me how to cook a lot of Italian food (her MIL was from Italy) and my dad showed me out to cook some Puerto Rican food.

I love the fix it and forget it crockpot cookbook. I make a lot of things out of there.
I have tried some recipes that girls on here have posted.
I also do searches online when I want to try something in particular.

Re: where do you get your recipes from?
I get inspired by the weekly thread here, allrecipes.com, cooks.com, foodnetwork.com, the better homes and gardens cook book. I also have some cooking magazines that I look at from time to time to get ideas as well.

Re: where do you get your recipes from?
Most of my (Greek) recipes were passed down from my grandma. Otherwise, I'll try recipes I see on Foodnetwork or on foodnetwork.com.
