Went to the Post Office Cafe in Babylon Village recently. The whole experience was HORRIBLE. We used to go there and never have a problem until they merged with the old Peter's Restaurant it seems it just becae to big for them to handle.
The service was horrible. Noone came over to our table, we had to ask someone to get the waitress. The waitress had an attitude. She brought me a drink with lip marks on it. Gross. Then it went down hill from there. My mother had a drink spilt all over her. We don't like to complain. This was a situation where we HAD to. I will not be returning. Such a shame bc I did used to like it there.

DH and I went to Butera's the other night in Seaford for my birthday/our anniversary. I have to say I was NOT impressed.
The menu was too vast.......(we actually commented it was like going to the Cheesecake Factory for that reason!). I ordered a penne and chicken meatball dish and it reminded me of a microwavable meal. There is so much BETTER Italian on LI.............I don't recommend this place at all.

H20 - Service was terrible and it was like women (and men) put on their best clothes and all the jewelry and watches .
edit to add: The food was ok... I could make better at home
Tellers: Service was good, but I didn't even eat my meal it was terrible. Only thing I enjoyed was my rootbeer float.

They recently became gross...I used to looooove it there, and recently we went back and DH said he'd never go back there again, I used to loooove that place!!!

Vincent's in Carle Place-- I totally don't get how the sauce is so legendary... we thought it was bland like something from a jar!
Olive Garden--- I actually don't mind chain restaurants for the most part (I actually like the PF Changs in Westbury!!) but Olive Garden just sucks. I feel like I can get better Italian food at any random pizza place.
Davenport Press in Mineola-- not bad, but really average. I heard raves about it so I was sort of underwhelmed.
Major's Steak House-- was here with a big group... I don't think a single one of us got our steaks cooked the way we requested. Food was just ok.
Milleridge Inn-- I don't hate it, but I think it's overrated. Also, the little bakery on the premises has gone way downhill... I remember as a child it used to be a treat to take a drive over there and get yummy baked goods. I took my own kids there this year and none of us could eat the stuff we bought-- stale and had an odd artificial flavor.

I know it's not an LI restaurant, but DH and I HATED Serendipity 3 in the city. We waited 2 and a half hours, there were flies EVERYWHERE and the food was horrible. We were so disappointed.

DH and I have been disappointed with alot of places recently..I think we are starting to feel like if we are paying good money (and not small amounts either!) we should be getting GOOD food..not just decent food. I am not a great cook at all but sometimes we just feel like we'd make better food ourselves at home for a fraction of the cost.
Besides all the chains mentioned above, I also agree with Majors...just a very average steak house and for the price, not good at all. we were very disappointed in it.

And I hate all Chinese buffets. I just find them so repulsive and greasy. DH goes by himself because I'm so grossed out by them.
I wholeheartedly agree w/ you, Colleen! My DH loves them too, and I think they are nasty.

Tequila Surise in Bayside is so overrated IMO. The drinks are great but the food is not good and they are so overpriced.
ITA about Tequila Sunrise. Great Margarita's though!
