What age are you looking forward to and vice versa?

And what age do you look forward to when LO is here and why? And, what age are you not looking forward to and why?

I look forward to the 1yr and under. Sure, theres a lot of getting up in the middle of the night and such but they are just so precious at this point. I also like the age of 5. I love when children start talking about the craziest things. They can be so entertaining to hear. However, I dont look forward to the terrible twos. My niece is just getting over that age and all I can say is OH MY GOD! lol. I also dont look forward to teenage years...but that of course is way in the future.Chat Icon

Re: What age are you looking forward to and vice versa?

abbys 15 months.. and i have to say from about 9 months till now is by far my absolute most favorite... i see her change daily shes gone from a baby to a big girl in the blink of an eye and i LOVE every min of it.. she was a difficult baby with refulx and possible milk allergy which didnt clear up till about that 9 month mark. im also not looking forward to the waking in the middle of the night with a newborn although they are the most precious at that time... teenagers bring em on im ok with all the others except the newborn i think Chat Icon terrible twos i think arent so bad if you get them under control.. but it also depends on the kid and i havent been there yet ill let you know when i get there! My DD will be 2 in just a few weeks and I can honestly say that the past 2 months have been the absolute best so far!! Don't get me wrong, all of the stages have been fun however, I love that she is more independent now and can walk around with me while shopping and stuff, I love that she can speak in sentences and tell me "Mommy, I love you", I love that she has a sense of humor, I love that she seeks out hugs and kisses, I love that she likes to help us do absolutely everything, I love that she knows how to play nicely with her toys and that she has an imagination that keeps her busy for hours, and I just love seeing her as this little, tiny person now with thoughts, feelings, and opinions. It's been SO awesome!!!........I wish I could freeze time even though I know it will just keep getting better. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

EDIT - I forgot to add that I am dreading the teen years as I think every parent does!!!

Re: What age are you looking forward to and vice versa?

I am really looking forward to the first 5 years. As of right now I have little to no tolerance for that 6-10 year old span. I think mainly because all the children I know that age are obnoxious. I'm also nervous for the teenage years. I was considered a relatively good kid and I know there are things I did that I would be furious/mortified/sad if my child did. I can only imagine what "bad" teenagers doChat Icon

So basically I want to have a baby, raise said baby until five years old, send them to boarding school and get back a nice 20 year old.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I kid, I kid....sort ofChat Icon

I think the 2-4 yr range & 12-18 range is what I'm dreading. I am psyched for the newborn stage.

after a year... i think they show so much personality at the 1 year mark... and then starting to walk... not having to constantly hold them...

Re: What age are you looking forward to and vice versa?

toddlers terrify me. tantrums are like nails on a chalkboard to me, and i'm worried about my level of patience for the screaming and the whining over everything from meals to to bedtime to getting dressed to want, want, want...ugh.

i love them at ages like 5-10. they're still innocent enough to like their parents, but they're grown up enough to be like little people with their own personalities.
