Maternity Unds
What are "Maternity Underwear" - I know, stupid question, but not sure what they are. I see them listed in all the what to pack for the hospital checklists and have no idea how they're any different from regular ones.

Re: Maternity Unds
I never packed "maternity underwear" for the hospital. I usually just bought lycra/cotton full bikini panties with me. The maternity ones would have been swimming on me.

Re: Maternity Unds
I got maternity undies from Motherhood. They look just like regular underwear. I got the briefs, but they also have thongs and bikini. But, I can wear them under my belly without the back riding down, I don't do that with reg. panties. They have a wider band by the hip and more room in the butt area (which I definately need). While they are much more comfy than my reg. undies, I probably could have just bought a size bigger in reg. underwear.

I bought the motherhood thongs - I love them. I got them for $3.99 (3 pack) on sale.

Re: Maternity Unds
Ah thanks! I am hoping to just wear my regular unds throughout my whole pregnancy. They sit below my belly anyway. If they stop fitting (I not) then I'll get the maternity ones - thanks everyone!

Re: Maternity Unds
I was shopping in Burlington Coat Factory (thanks for the tip here whoever posted it), and bought a pack for giggles (it was in clearance and ended up being like $6 for a pack of 3).. But I didn't really check, and they are some Granny Panties!! Very comfortable & stretchy, but oh huge!
I'm hoping to get as much life out of my regular underwear also, but i figured I'd give them a whirl.. I like them, but i think i'd look in motherhood or somewhere for some bikini sized lol.

Re: Maternity Unds
I purchased a few maternity thongs from Motherhood and they are so much more comfy then my regular VS ones.
the band on the side is a little thicker so it is not digging into my "extra" hips that i have gained. They also fit around my belly better.

Re: Maternity Unds
I bought maternity undies, in bikini and thong at motherhood. They are cut low in the front so they don't get in the way of your growing tummy. They are very comfy, all cotton, I still wear them now! They don't look like maternity at all!
