Money

I just paid my bills and now am totally freaked out that my DH and I are not financially ready to have a baby, but when is anyone ever "ready" to have a baby? Does anyone else feel like this? I mean we're not poor, we just won't be able to live the lifestyle that we do now...and its NOT even that lavish! I'm going to enjoy my mani/pedis while I can. At least I'll have pretty toes when I'm holding my legs in the air!

Re: Money

We're in the same boat, but honestly I think you could spend your whole life waiting ot have "enough" money to have a baby.

And thank you for writing in your post about paying your bills, it reminded me I had to pay DH's cell phone billChat Icon

Re: Money

I think I am in a worse boat then you so dont worry lol. I just finished doing my bills too and I was like Chat Icon How the heck are we going to raise a baby..its hard, but my urge for being a wonderful mother out weighs the fiances. I am currently working on a budgeting plan and cutting back on a lot of things. Keep in mind, I dont get mani/pedi's I hardly go clothes shopping. I just buy essentials, food, gas, car insurance, utilities etc. and I am like Chat Icon

Re: Money

i am always stressing about money. my grandma passed away recently and left us some money so DH and I agreed this is for savings and now we are hardcore pay off bills/saving while we can. we bought a house last yr and renovated the whole thing so we have some extra bills right now. i am a teacher so we waited to start TTC until i finsihed my masters bc i will now get a decent raise. i dont think its ever "enough." but i always remember what my mom always tells me "god will provide for you" and he has NEVER let me down yet. sorry for being all religious.

Re: Money

I'm glad you posted this! I feel the same way. I know we will be able to afford it but the fact that I will be chained to my job forever scares the crap out of me because I work long hours. I am scared of all of the extra bills and not having $$ to save anymore.

Re: Money

everyone goes through that stress of "is it enough?".
people who make more live a more lavish lifestyle and with a baby that lavish lifestyle will change so technically they will be in the same boat as people who start off not living so lavishly.

i'm not worried so much about the day to day things like formula, diapers and food. its the day care that makes me wanna throw up Chat Icon

Re: Money

i am in the same position! We live an ok lifestyle, i wish we could live a lot easier, but we have a roof over our head and a bed to sleep in and a bed for my child and that is what matters the most.
