borrowed: $1,800, from MIL as a down payment for my car. I paid her back with my tax refund 2-weeks later. I just needed to jump on the deal before the refund came back. This was before she was my MIL too.

lent out: $2,000 to my dad for a surprise get away for my mom. It was a last minute thing and he needed the cash.

I lent a friend $700 for an abortion. I regret it. I found out later that she borrowed hundreds of dollars from several friends of mine for multiple abortions.

I borrowed 20k from my mom and dad to cover the downpayment on my 2br co-op when I was in the middle of selling my 1br co-op.

I was already in contract for my 1br at a 40k profit so they know I was good for the cash.

I lent a friend money so we can go on vacation together, it was about $300....never got paid back

I borrowed 3K from my sister and paid her back a week later. It was a matter of needing the money, but not getting my paycheck till the following week. I like to say she "filled in" for my paycheck

Borrowed $15K from my mom over a period of time, well actually it was orginally a loan for the wedding, she ended up just saying she would pay for half the wedding which was about $15K....

I have leant $2000 to a friend, and $5000 to a relative.

I borrowed $1K from my grandma when I bought my first car when I was 16. I paid her back over $100 a week for 10 weeks.
I have loaned a few thousands out to immediate family members, and they always paid me back quickly. Ray lends money to his brother and best friend all the time. Some people can never seem to save any money or stop getting deeper in debt. He is always paid back also though.

I don't know if this is actually "borrowing". My parents saved up money since my sister was younger for either college expenses or something else big like that. Well since I went to the community college, I had quite a bit in my account. They gave my dh and I the downpayment for our house (we bought their house!). Supposedly we are supposed to be paying them back every year but it is in stocks and the amount never goes down??!!

I borrowed $30K from my parents - my father was set on us putting down 20% and having $$ left for renovations, so he fronted the money.

I think I've loaned $5000 max
