i have heard mixed reviews and I think its good for people with bad acne but will dry out your skin otherwise? My sister and DH have both used it with good results, although dont get on the autofill plan because a 3 mo supply lasts more like 6 months.

Thanks. I use Clinque now and it does not dry my skin and I don't want that to happen.

I'm a fan. I didn't have "bad" skin, just those annoying pimples that would reappear constantly. After I started using proactive, they totally went away.

Yes, it does bleach colored towels & does slightly dry out skin but if you use the moisturizer from the kit, you'll be fine.

Re: ProActive

I used it and eventually it stopped working and made me break out MORE

I am using the Mario Badescue products now. They are awesome! Pricy but worth it. I have been using them for a month and my skin is looking better each week!!

agreed! I returned it because of this same problem

I started using Clinique and it works better for me than Proactiv did

I use the facial soap for oily skin, toner #3, and the moisturizing gel

Re: ProActive

I loved it. I think it is magic in a jar. It did wonders for my face and cleared everything up. I had horrible, painful cystic acne in my early 20s and thanks to proactive it is gone.

ETA: A friend of mine had the opposite reaction and it made her skin worse.

Re: ProActive

It did nothing for me years ago. I decided to try it again a couple of months ago and had an allergic reaction to it. I have a brand new set in the box if you want to try it. It's just wasting space in my closet.

Re: ProActive

liquid gold for me.

I have to use the whole system though, sometimes I try and skip a step but I need all four.

All my towels and sheets are white.

Same here. I used it for years with great results. I then thought my skin needed a change and tried lots of others like Mario Badescu, Clarins, Avene and I'm now on to Retin A prescribed by my dermatologist. My skin is still bad and I think I need to switch back to ProActive.

yeah... i noticed that if i dried my face with a towel that wasnt white, i would leave white spots on it... kind of like bleach spots -- whats up with that?
