Do you ever feel like?

Do you ever feel like you just want to be the only one involved in the whole TTC process? I love DH to death but he is driving me nuts. First, I tell him this week is a good time to BD. Then he wants to ask 20 questions. For example, when are you going to ovulate? I tell him time and again, idk exactly lets just BD every other day around the week. I have a pretty good idea but i dont like to tell him only a day or two that are good. I figure extra BD helps us cover our bases.

Then i tell him that i was thinking of looking into a midwife instead of a traditioal OB. He was like "why?" so i calmy explain my thoughts and he is like "why cant we just go to hosital and have a baby like normla people?". I know he didnt mean it cruely but im really upset. I am the one whose body is going through all these changes and delivery, why cant i make the decisons. Its not like im trying to have the baby at home. I want to deliver in a hopital with a midwife.

Then i fell like everybody else (mom, sis, friends) that i told we are TTC are always asking questions and putting in their 2 cents, especially those who have kids. I am totally regreting ever telling anyone we are TTC. I wish it could just be my little secret and not even tell DH..lol. Sorry soooo long. Thanks for letting me vent.

Well, DH and I havent started TTC yet and I dont know if I will tell anyone when we are (incl. family). I can understand your frustrationg though..it always seems like people want to give their opinion/advice/recommendations on things, even when its not asked for. Plenty of and dont worry, you'll pull through.

i def. know how it feels to hate having to explain every little thing to DH. sometimes you have to spell it out like they're kindergardeners. guys can be clueless- does he even know what a midwife is or how common they are?

have you read this article?

maybe you would want to share it with him or some other info so he can read about it on his own and stop bugging you with 20 questions. hth

DH doesn't bother me too much. My mom knows we are TTC, but she only asks when I'll know if I'm prego.

Just wait til you actually have a child. I'm sure all sorts of people come out of the woodwork to tell you how wrongly you are raising your child.

Just tell them thanks, I did my research and know what I'm doing.

I have definitely felt this way about toher people we've tols but never DH. He has been such a support through all of this. I would not have been able to get through the last 10 months without him.

IMHO I feel that yeah it's a pain to have other people get in your business about this and maybe it's not a great idea to tell friends/family about TTC. . but while it might feel like DH is being a pain and questioning. . it's nice that he cares and feels like he's part of the process. honestly I know people whose Dh's don't really care or feel bothered by the whole process esp if it takes a while and trust me that doesn't feel better. . . I'm not saying at all that you don't have a right to be bothered by his questions. . but I might try to take it as love and a positive thing. . (thouth ITA he could work on some better phrasing eg "like normal people" which I understand why would make you )

DH is the same when it comes to the whole ovulating thing... 21 questions! Then since he asks teh same question in like 8 different ways, he makes me second guess myself and then i get all confused!

my DH doesn't even know how to get PG practically. i feel like he thinks you can just imagine you want to be PG, and boom, you are PG.

but now, he always asks my temp in the am...not that he knows what hes talking about (well, neither do i really..)
