If you were having a party...
and wanted to have a few hot dishes, what would you make/order?
We are having a Labor Day party for about 30/40 people (adults and children). There will be a few vegetarians there. I am going to order an italina/american hero with pot/mac/coleslaw but want to make some dishes as well (maybe 4 or 5). I love to entertain ANyway, here's my menu so far:
Apps/Colds: Veggies/ranch dip Spinach dip with bagel slices Greek olive hummus with pita chips Red pepper southwest dip with tortilla chips Crackers/cheese/pepperoni/salami assorted chips Greek salad Chickpea salad Hots: Bowties with broccoli, garlic, EVOO and romano cheese Penne ala vodka (homemade-no meat) Sweet and sour kielbasa OR meatballs ??????? What else? Would love any suggestions

Re: If you were having a party...
i made a super easy chicken dish last night...
lay some lemon slices in a glass dish.
season bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs with salt and pepper and lay on top of the lemon slices.
mix together olive oil, lemon juice, chopped rosemary,& fresh minced garlic and pour on top of the chicken.
bake at 425 for about 55 minutes.... you can baste the chicken during that time too. the skin gets super crispy and the lemon & marinade make a great sauce! I did this with 10 chicken thighs last night and it was soooo easy!

Re: If you were having a party...
Thank you for the recommendation. A chicken dish is probably a good idea. I personally don't like dark meat or on the bone chicken (I have food issues lol) but I think most people do. The recipe does sound really good and easy. I love a lemony chicken!

Re: If you were having a party...
I'd love to do something easy so I don't spend too much time in the kitchen. I am thinking maybe shredded buffalo chicken & BBQ pulled pork in the crockpot to make sliders. Ideas?
