transplanting hydrangea - now?
i have some pretty flowers, do i have to wait until there are no more blossoms to trim and transplant?

I would wait until next month when you can trim the flower heads. You might shock it too much now. But if you do, make sure you water it well.

i can wait, it's gotten so big it's blocking my IGS spray.
i have to move it in anticipation that next year it may get a little bigger (the place i want to put it can afford it getting bigger).

We are moving and actually transplanted 2 hydrangeas from our current house to our new house. We would have liked to have waited, but we couldn't.
So far they are doing well. They don't look as hearty as they usually do, but they're not dead. Most of the leaves are still green and it still has blooms. I'm sure it'll come back full force next year.

I'm sure it loves being by your IGS though. Those beauties love water. I would just move it. Either way, it will be back next year for sure. GL!
