prenatal vitamins
I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I did a quick search but didn't find the answer to my question.
How long before TTC should you begin taking prenatal vitamins? We're not quite ready yet, probably in about 8-9 months or so, but I heard from a friend that she is already taking them even though she isn't planning to TTC for about a year. What's the norm?
Thanks!

Re: prenatal vitamins
Theres no harm in taking them - so the sooner the better. But i did hear that it takes at least 6 months for your body to fully benefit from them - so i would say at least 6 months prior to TTC

ITA, I use the gummy OTCs, which I'll use until I get a BFP and ask the doctor, and they're the same price as regular vitamins so no harm taking them now.

Re: prenatal vitamins
I started taking extra folic acid with my womens multivitamin about a month before going off the pill..... then while I was seeing my RE, I started taking a regular prenatal with DHA.
