Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
do any of you look pretty young and feel like when you buy a pregnancy test that the cashier is judging you? lol
once when i picked up prenatal vitamins the young girl ringing me up kinda looked at me funny. this was before i got married so i didnt have a wedding band on and i felt like she was secretly judging me lol
do any of you wonder what the cashier is thinking when they ring up your "pregnancy purchases" such as vitamins, tests, opk's etc?

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
ME! I am glad I am not the only one. I am nearly 30, but look more like I am 17. I went to buy tests and the guy at the counter looked at me so strangely that I couldn't look him in the eye! My husband also looks very young (he is 31) and I am certain that if I ever get pregnant people are going to look at us walking around as if we are some sad statistic!

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
I always felt funny when I went to the Dollar Store and bought like 15 of them. I'd imagine the cashier would think, "Just HOW busy do you think you'll be getting this week?"

I won't buy them in my town b/c I'm convinced I'll see someone I know. Amazon is my friend:)

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
I will be 30 in October but I look very young. I work in a HS and get mistaken for a student all the time
I felt like I got looks when I bought the tests, was pregnant and even now when I am with DD. I am probably sensitive/paranoid about how often it happens.. haha

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
Yes, there are certain things I only buy online. Condoms(before ttc), lube, OPK, pregnancy tests, dandruff shampoo . I have a fear of judgment.

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
have not bought any for myself yet but I did buy once for a friend because I am married and was wearing my rings. She isn't married/engaged and was too ashamed to buy one herself
I have no problem buying feminine products but always made DH buy lube (and hide when he does)

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
LOL! I am always embarrassed buying OPK's, PG tests and Tampons/Pads! I know I shouldn't care what the hell they think but I always feel weird.
Last month, DH and I bought tests at Bed Bath and Beyond because we had to stop in for something else. As we walked out DH said the cashier "looked at him funny" when she scanned the tests.

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
i always get paranoid going to the store to buy tests or condoms for fear i will run into someone i know. my town is pretty small so chances are i usually see at least one person that is either related to me or that i went to school with. i just bought a bunch of tests online in bulk from amazon so i could avoid these type of situations. one time i was at the store with fh buying condoms and my grandma was at the store at the same exact time. needless to say we did not end up making that purchase.

I had a cashier at the dollar tree say to me once "you know that you only need one to tell you" I was enbarassed by this. I never went back to that dollar tree again.

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
I used to feel that way...but I'm comfortable now...it's none of their business and if it excites their day to make up stories in their mind about what they think i'm doing with my life then far be it from me to deny them some excitement in their day lol

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
Yes!! I always feel weird!!!! The worst part is I look a lot younger than I am! I get mistaken for 17/18 when I'm really 28. Its horrible. I know if I get pregnant people are going to automatically assume that I'm a teen mom.
In fact when I first got married people always said "aren't you a little young to be married"
I can only imagine what people think at the counter when I'm buying a pregnancy test and later when I'm pregnant.

Re: Judged for Buying Pregnancy tests?
I usually try to time it for when it is really busy so the cashier doesn't have time to judge me Although one time the pregnant lady in line in front of me gave me a hug and said "I hope you get the results you are looking for!" Her DH and apologized saying that she was just very emotional that week
Or I buy them at the grocery store when I am going to use self checkout or the scan&bag
Only this last time did I go at a random time when it wasn't busy...and I was buying both regular and digital tests at the same time...I think she was looking at me like really do you need both??
I'm so paranoid
