I did not know this
Just found this:
No wonder why some ladies hang around here for so long.
** If you are 20-25 years old your chances per cycle are about 25% to conceive. 25-30 years old your chances are about 20% each cycle. 30-35 years old your chances are about 15% each cycle. After 35 years old your chances are about 10% per cycle
--This means a woman under 30 with no other known fertility issues typically get pregnant within 6 cycles. --Women in early 30s get pregnant, on average, by the end of the 9th cycle. --Women in mid 30s take an average of one year to get pregnant. --Women over 35: If you haven't gotten pregnant in the first 6 cycles you need to consult a fertility specialist. Your age means that you have a lower chance of conceiving and a higher chance of miscarriage so it is better to get medical help.

Re: I did not know this
Seriously!
But I know that if I hadn't been careful prior to TTC when we didn't want to be pregnant, I would have gotten knocked up in an instant.

Re: I did not know this
I know it's hard, but try not to get so hung up on these percentages!
Everybody's different-I know tons of people who it took more than a year to get PG, and others it took 1 or 2 tries. Currently I know 2 different women who are in their mid 40's and pregnant and having very healthy babies this summer & fall.
It's so varied...
I'm a firm believer in the power of positive thinking
Lots and lots of for you all

Re: I did not know this
It's disheartening, but I know a few people who began trying early thinking it would take months, and got a BFP the first month. I guess it doesn't mean it will tak YOU six months- it's an average. It's still possible that it will just take 1 mo for a 35 yr old. Still an eye opener. I didn't know the percentages were that low accross the board.

Re: I did not know this
I am more amazed how women get pregnant at all. Goes to show how little control we have over when it's our turn. I believe when it's meant to be our time it will happen.
