so my progesterone levels came back..

and they ARE low-- she said they are 12.6 and she would like to see it at 15--- she prescribed PROMETRIUM 200mg orally at night (even though bottle said vaginally--called the pharmacy-- they made a mistake -- ALWAYS read the little pamphlet that comes with the script)--- anyway-- a little nervous-- any of you ladies familiar with this drug? side effects to me? the baby?

never done prometrium but have done progesterone suppositories and gel. the side effects are similar to early pregnancy symptoms; bloating, boob soreness, etc. so its hard to tell which is a symptom and whih is a side effect. im surprised they didnt give you suppositories because they absorb better with less side effects (supposedly) than the oral pills.

I was on progesterone supplements when I was pregnant with my DD. I was on them from week 5 through week 12 of my pregnancy. The only side effect I had was exhaustion........on top of the exhaustion from being pregnant. Other than that I had no issues. My DD was born happy and healthy.

when i was pregnant with ds my levels came back at an 8 7dpo
i was on endometrin until 13 weeks but it never got above a 12.

my last cycle my progesterone level was a 12 7dpo and was not given any supplements.

i think ur dr is just being very cautious but all sounds great!!!
