To return it or not to return it....
So I went to Bed Bath & Beyond this morning and bought a new toaster oven. Came home, unpacked it and noticed signs that it was previously purchased and returned! Grrr. This makes me so angry!! The power cord was crumpled in a ball with the twist tie half wrapped around it and you could tell the plastic decal that protects the screen was pulled off and then stuck back on all ****-eyed! The accessory trays that come with the toaster oven don't appear to have been taken out of the plastic wrap and the toaster oven itself doesn't look like it was actually used, still the situation annoys me. I'm super crazy and particular about this sort of thing, but I'm also lazy. It was the last box and I really don't want to jackass back to the store and return it and then wait for a new shipment...blah blah.
Anyway, would you return it or just suck it up and keep it if it appears to be working properly??

that happened to me at Bed Bath and Beyond as well. I returned it. I'm very picky and I would want it to be brand new even if it didn't look used. KWIM?

Keep it.
My food processor was clearly opened but not used & I bought it anyway, b/c it was the last one.
I did check that all the parts were there though.
I am not sure how it's gross? If you return things, so have to assume other people to do. If it is usable, of course a store is going to put it back on the shelf. I would only returnn it if there were toast crumbs or something.

As long as it works and all the pieces are there, I would keep it especially since you said it wasn't used.

I would return it.
I bought a popcorn maker there and had to return it. Someone used it and burned the bottom and someone at BBB ended up restocking it.
I think I'm done with them for a while.

I agree. I bought a toaster from Target and it was used, and returned because there were crumbs in it

I would excahnge it for a new one. they are AMAZING when it comes to returns. they even take back stuff that they sell even if you didn't buy it there!

you said all that was wrong with it was the decal on the front was skewed (which you'd be removing anyway) and the twist tie used to keep the power cord was removed and put back on..
if it had been clearly used (like it had crumbs or grease on it), then i'd probably return it, but it sounds as if someone just opened it and decided to return it
its a toaster, not underwear.. i don't see the big deal

Most clothes you own have probably been tried on by many people too!!

I tend to agree. If it's obvious it wasn't actually used to cook anything, I wouldn't bother trying to return it.
