update from my RE appointment today (long)
ok so i had my dr. b appointment this morning and omg do i seriously  that man!!!!!!!!!!! my mom came with me (for the first time - i only started sharing this journey with her when i had the second chemical PG in may). she is one of those people that thinks shes a doctor, and he totally humored her and made a ton of jokes and was absolutely amazing about everything...
anyway on to the nitty gritty of the appointment. so i have yet another strike against me, in addition to the blood clotting and the NK cells. apparently DH and I have 1 similar antigen. one of the tests dr. b did was to see if our HLA genes match in a certain spot on a certain chromosome.
this site has a great description of it although dr. b explained it pretty well also. so what DH and I have in common is antigen HLA-C. according to dr. b this HLA is a very important one because when its detected in the embryo, it blocks my immune system from attacking the embryo. every person gets 2 versions of the antigen, one from mom and one from dad. since sperm is only half of the DNA for a baby, (the other half being my egg obviously), there is a 50% chance of my HLA-C and DH's contributing HLA-C will match for the baby, which is bad news for because its part of what kicks my immune system and NK cells into overdrive. so its all interconnected...
anyway sorry that was such a long and complicated story but this just keeps getting worse for me. it is treatable to a point. dr. b said there is never any way to know which antigen we are getting from DH (the matching one or the non-matching one), but the IV intralipid treatment that i am doing anyway for the NK cells will allow dr. b to suppress my immune system at the right time so that even if we have the matching HLA-C, my body wont try to fight off the embryo. so as far as i know there are no additional things i have to do that i didnt know about before.
so back to the appointment itself, dr. b is doing the sono and my mom is watching the screen. he is somewhat explaining to her what the things are. then my mom says "whats the dark spot?" and he looks and says it might be a polyp or a fibroid but that its outside of the uterus. but then he said he wants me to get a hysteroscopy, which i thought was the HSG that everyone talks about but its not. this is the one where they put a tiny scope in the uterus to make sure that everything in there is normal. during the sono he noted that i wasnt anywhere near ovulation (its CD32  ). this is actually a good thing because i am actually able to do the hysteroscopy on monday. i wanted to wait until next saturday but dr. b wanted to do it early next week so that he knows im not near ovulation since it needs to be done early in the cycle. he said it doesnt really hurt more than an AF cramp and doesnt take more than 5 minutes or so. and he does it in the office.
the best thing is that since im not ovulating, and assuming the hysteroscopy comes back clean, which he thinks it will, we can start our next (heavily) medicated cycle right away  .
the best thing that he said the entire appointment, that made me feel really positive about all of this, is he said , in front of my mom, that he thinks ill be HOLDING a baby within a year. and he was so positive and frank about it. i hope he is right

That is great news...i love dr b also...IM having very similar issues...im sopossed to ovulate any day now but from the side with now tube-last time I got pregnant that way but it may have been a fluke....Your news is great and I KNow it will all work out for us!!!!

Wow what an appt. Glad Dr B is giving you answers and that he is SO positive you will get pregnant! Hang in there and good luck with your next cycle...hoping and this is it for you!

thanks everyone.
im def a little overwhelmed that so many things came back wrong with me from the testing i did. and im nervous about all of the meds ill have to do next cycle - which could start as soon as the end of this week!!
as dr. b always says though im glad we found these things now, because the more things we can treat the better the probability of a good outcome the next time i get a BFP. im glad he is so confident that everything will work out, because at this point i feel like this upcoming cycle is an entirely new journey on top of what ive already been through for the past 14 months.
anyway thanks for listening and reading this far. if anyone has had similar test results i would love to hear your stories so either post or FM!!

 I just realized I never responded to this thread!!
Anyway I love that quote too!! I know he wouldn't just say stuff like that lightly. When you get that BFP I will seriously feel like I get one all over again!!!!!! That is how excited I will be!!
