thank you so much for the inspiration ladies!
I'm going to try again today.
I don't know if this makes sense, but running at 5.0 actually seemed HARDER than 5.5 because it seemed just too slow! Maybe because I have long legs? IDK, but it was hard to go so slow... it felt even more strenuous!
Should I try 5.3 or so? And try to do W4D1 again?? OMG I agree haylye.. I started going faster after I was totally embarrassed by my speed..it was actually easier b/c of the momentum!!

Re: Where are my C25k ladies?
okay so I tried again on monday and did:
3 min run 1.5 min walk 5 min run 2.5 min walk 3 min run 1.5 min walk 2.5 min run (instead of 5 min) 7.5 min walk (instead of 5 min)
I know that was MUCH better than the previous time (this time I did 13.5 min out of 16 instead of 12/16) -
BUT...
here's where it all goes downhill.
Today I tried again, same thing... week 4, day 1... and BOMBED.
I did the 3 min run, 1.5 min walk... but my legs were just BURNING and I couldn't handle it! I ran 2 more minutes and then walked 2 minutes... ran 3 more minutes, then gave up!
I came home... jumped in the shower and cried
Then I put my sneakers on again, put my 22 lb baby in the stroller and pushed him about 1.5 miles in a fairly hilly area. Does that count?
I feel SO discouraged with C25k.
Do you think the walking is good enough to help me lose weight? I just feel terrible about myself because I couldn't do week 4, even after 3 tries. I just can't do it! My legs BURN, I feel like I can't breathe... it's too much!

Don't be discouraged. First of all, it's hard. Secondly, it's HOT!!!! Finally, repeat a week. It's okay to do that!

Re: Where are my C25k ladies?
dont be discouraged, I havet done week 4 COMPLETELY yet either, the last run, both days, Ive had to stop early. My legs are burning too, I cant begin to tell you how sore my calves are.
Maybe your body just isnt ready for week four yet, maybe try repeating week 3 to build up your endurance more and then attempt week four again, instead of trying week 4 over and over.
YOu are doing GREAT and good for to go for a walk after!

Re: Where are my C25k ladies?
Did Week 4 Day 1 yesterday. . .holy mother of god!!!!!!!!!! First off, I was SOAKED when I got home, and I didn't fully read what week 4 entailed so as I'm doing the last 5 minutes (which I thought was only 3 minutes) I thought I was going to die I was like "is there something wrong with my app??!!" I did stop for 30 seconds during the last 5 minute run, it was so hot, I thought I was going to get sick. but I did start to run again after those 30 seconds.
sooooo I ask myself WHY did I start C25K during the summer months????? (I don't even have a nice air conditioned house to come home too!!!)

omg, my calves kill too!!! & part of me is like "I actually have nice calves, I don't want those to get the best workout out" HAHA I did stretch them out yesterday REALLY good & they actually don't hurt today.

Hayley- are you full out running? I find myself jogging at this point still, can you try jogging instead? It's probably harder on a treadmill to be honest b/c you can't just slow yourself down easily

thats a good point, it is easier, when you are out running to just adjust your pace as needed instead of putzing with controls on the treadmill. Im definitely only jogging it now to, Im not even close to all out running it.

Re: Where are my C25k ladies?
Thanks ladies..
I'm pretty much RUNNING. It's so hard on the treadmill, but the area near me is FULL of hills and it makes it too hard to run outside! And like Linda & I were discussing... going slower on the treadmill is actually harder!
Maybe I will repeat week 3 (man I wish the music from runningintoshape didn't SUCK for week 3!!!).
I need some good stretches too!
Did you guys see my comment on LIF MMC on FB?? hahah
Dev - we have NO a/c here either... it makes it sooo hard to cool down after! I have to jump right into a cold shower and even then, my face stays bright red for a good 30 minutes!
Should I take off today and try it tomorrow?? (repeating week 3)?

do you have a local high school you can go to and run on their track? Its definitely easier if you can jog it, at your own pace.
As for more music, I dont use that one.. I download the podcasts/playlists from www.gonicoleyourself.blogspot.com

Re: Where are my C25k ladies?
Week 4 Day 2, while I did better I decided I needed to change up my run, so I ran into town and the route I took ended up with me running up a damn hill during that last 5 minute run. . .I did it but COULD NOT WAIT to start heading down the hill When the lady on my app said "one minute left" I said OUTLOUD while running "thank the f***king lord" and then looked around to make sure no one heard

I am going to do my best to get my asss on the treadmill if the babies give me a double nap tomorrow, before I go to work. What app are you guys using? I only have the old one that has horrible techno music! Please post a link!! And wish me luck that the stars align and I can get it done!
