Clear Blue Fertility Monitor Ques
Has anyone used a used CBFM? A friend let me borrow her's, but I was reading the instructions and it says that it won't work because it can't be reset. Not sure if the manufacturer is just saying it so you feel like you have to buy a new one or if its true. . .

Of course that's the reason that they tell you that - but it's just a lie I know for a fact that you can find instrctions on how to reset online because I have done it a couple of times on my monitor already Just google it and you will see Here's one: http://www.ehow.com/how_5516361_reset-clear-blue-fertility-monitor.html

Re: Clear Blue Fertility Monitor Ques
thanks for responding. I don't think i phrased it right. . . I found this in the instruction in the frequently asked questions and wonder how true it is.
"Can I share my Monitor with a friend or relative when I am done using it?"
"The monitor has been designed to be used once. Once it has been used, it stores your personal data and modifies the testing schedule based on the data. If you transfer the monitor to another person, it may take several months for the monitor to adjust to the new person’s data. This could result in a delay for the new user to see Peak Fertility. Additionally, once your monitor has been used, it is contaminated with your urine, which may contain an infectious disease. There are no reliable methods for you to clean or remove infectious diseases from the monitor. It is for these reasons that we do not recommend that anyone use your monitor but you."

Re: Clear Blue Fertility Monitor Ques
yea I read that too.
I think it says that, aside from monetary reasons, because it can be unsanitary but also because when you first use the monitor it asks for you to test on cd6. As the months progress it adjusts when to ask for test sticks based on YOUR personal cycle. So if I normally o late (CD18 or 19) then it probably won't ask me to test until maybe cd12. If I were an early O'er then it might start asking me on cd 8.
Regardless, it takes the machine a few cycles to get to know you... even brand new machines.
I do not know if it gets to know you by surges... like your high surge might not be my high surge.. we have diff hormone levels, etc.
It doesn't hurt to try it out anyway... since you have one from your friend.

It can be reset. I purchased my monitor off ebay, reset it, used it and got pregnant.

How long did you use it for before you got pregnant?

sorry to bombard you but I have a q for you too kat... did you just on the high and peak days? or did you follow another plan aside from the monitor? I've been using it and our schedules were a little off so we were only able to get the in on the high and peak days. this month was a little different though.
