Talk to me about OPK
Im taking the bull by the horns here and am going to start using OPK and temping since my cycle is so whacky I want to know what exactly is going on with my body. I want to do the digital ones, can you tell me where you get them cheap? And is Clearblue the only ones who make digitals?
Also, when do you POAS? Did you start right after your AF was finished? Again, my cycle is whacky so I have no idea when to even begin. Do you test in the AM or PM? I know when I tried the cheapy OPK from the Dollar Tree it said to do mid day and hold in your pee. Does it work the same with the digital?
TIA

Re: Talk to me about OPK
I am new to this, but from what I understand, it's best to use OPK's sometime in the late afternoon-supposedly the hormone its picking up doesn't usually show itself first thing in the am..
SUpposedly the Clearblue ones are the best. I used the First Response, and it was a major pain in the a$$ waiting for lines to match up. The FR ones I used came in a 20 pack that you use once your perdiod's over. I think I started using on CD 7.
Some brands only come with 10 sticks-I would think you'd mainly use them between days 10 and 20. BUT you should still a bit before day 10 and a day or 2 after day 20 (for good measure )
Google "Deanna's Plan". DH and I did similar to that-except we did it like on speed
If you want to do the Harlow + Hubs plan, you have to on days 7,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,20 (twice), 21. That should cover your bases!

I use the CBE digitals and I test with FMU. I buy the 20 pack through amazon and they have them the cheapest I have found. I don't know if anyone else makes digitals.
I don't start testing until CD14 but that is only because I know that I don't O until somewhere after CD20. If I remember correctly, they tell you to start testing three days after the end of your period.
Hope that helps!

Re: Talk to me about OPK
My CBE digitals came with a chart that said if your cycle is X amount of days, start on Y day. My cycle is 28-30 days, so I started on CD 10. It does say you can use FMU, but I've been doing it after work. I ordered through Amazon, it came with 3 packs of 7.
