How long did it take you to close??
Before you signed the contract??
We went in contract April 29th and haven't closed yet - the bank needed more docs and I send over 85 pages yesterday

We went into contract same time, april 28, and yet to have a closing date. Probably the end of June the bank said. They still need more info. I think we are right on schedule

We had an accepted offer on September 30. The bank was ready for us to close by October 28, but the lawyers could only get together on November 4. So, all and all it took about a month. We had a conventional mortgage - I think that makes a difference.

We went into contract March 25 and are still negotiating the closing date (hopefully the next week or 2). We had all our paperwork in at the bank within the first couple weeks and are getting a conventional loan. It's totally b/c of the sellers. They keep pushing back the closing.... So frustrating! It will happen soon! So I keep telling myself...
eta: oh, just kidding, found out today the the closing will be late June at the earliest. Still b/c of the sellers  Thank goodness we are not selling our current home and don't have tenants yet, so we will have a place to live/work (since I work from home) until the sellers get around to MOVING OUT! ugh! I feel your pain. Hope you close soon!

Ours was just over 2 months from signed contracts to closing... felt like an eternity and btw, the bank will ask you for the same paperwork 10x over... its normal

Don't feel bad. When we went into contract on our house in March of 2003. Six months and many tears later, we finally closed in September of that year. Obviously, my experience was not typical.

if you are doing an FHA loan then expect 60 days if you are doing a conventional loan they can be quicker but these days loans are taking 60+ days cause they are being looked at so closely

We went into contract april 28th , and we closed may 21. There are a bunch of reasons why we moved fast, but I think the biggest reason was that we were pre-apporved for our mortgage.

We signed our contracts on March 15th and we have not closed yet. We are cleared to close and probably will next week sometime.

Ours took about 3 months. We made the offer on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and we closed on Halloween.

We bought a co-op so the process is RIDICULOUSLY long, we had an accepted offer on April 23, closed on Sept 11.

We are going with an FHA loan, and we signed April 16th. We should be getting a clear to close next week. Our attorney has assured us that we will be closing by the end of the month but she's shooting for a two week close date. HTH

i feel your frustration i'm going through the same thing we signed our contract in march and we are STILL waiting to close.. the homeowners are taking their sweet @ss time b/c they have a daughter who they want to finish up school and so theres been problems that they have been stalling with w/ open permits on the house they need to close... i just hope we close by june 30th since we will be away for our wedding/HM from the 12-25!
