the gift
One of my close friends has told me that the best piece of advice she can give me for delivery is "take the gift." Apparently they will offer you an enema and she said to most definitely accept. It will elliminate the concern of pooping on the table. And who wants to do that. YUCK!!!

Re: the gift
Really?! She says she was offered it with both her babies- she didn't take it the first time, but did the second and was really glad she did. Maybe only certain Drs offer the "gift." She and I go to the same practice.

Re: the gift
I have gf's who were given one but I was never offered one. Pooping during delivery isn't a big deal. Take it from me lol you have bigger things on your mind!

Re: the gift
I was offered it for my second delivery after I explaing to my ob/gyn how I was unhappy with my first delivery.
In the end, I showed up 10cm dialated at the hosptial. I barely made it unto the gurney before my dd was born. No time for an enema.

Re: the gift
I wasn't offered it - and was actually told by a nurse friend that she gave herself one at home because they no longer do it. I guess all hospitals are different.

Re: the gift
Am I the only one who could really care less if I sh-t all over the table?! I mean, come on! I just carried this kid around for nine months, if I wanna poop on the table, I'm gonna poop on the table! That being said, JT and I have an agreement that if I DO happen to sh-t on the table, he will never, EVER speak of it to me for as long as we both shall live

Re: the gift
I was never offered one and if I was I probably would not take it. The last thing on my mind at that point was pooping on the table.

Re: the gift
I gave myself one as instructed by Lamaze before I left for the hospital. No pooping on the table for me. You would be surprised whats in there even though you eat light When I told the nurses I gave myself one they said "Good girl, thats what we like to hear" LOL I was soooo damn proud!!

Re: the gift
Ive been debating back and forth if i will do this before heading to the hospital. Its a concern of mine now but I think once I am in actual labor and pain I wont care too much anyway.

I wasn't offered one but if I had been I would've been all over it!! Good for you that you don't care about pooping on the table. For me that was my biggest fear!!
