So the Dr. just called...
and the results of my glucose tolerance test came back abnormal. He's going to put me on metformin, I'm picking up the script on Saturday when DH goes for his semen analysis. He's also going to run some more bloodwork for some extra testing.
I know most people would be bummed to have a test come back abnormal but I am so relieved! I have always thought I had this problem but my doctors always brushed it off or would do regular bloodwork and not find anything. I am so happy Dr. Z ordered the glucose tolerance test and that I finally have an answer and a solution!

It IS great to get answers, even when they are not so great, but you have a solution, and that is what counts ! You are on the right path. Good luck to you !!! I hope the rest of the tests come back perfect and you get your BFP SOON!!!!

Good luck with the everything. I've been on Metformin for a while and my advice is to always take it after you eat and depending what dose they want to get you to go slowly with the increase. I am on 150mg/day and I started taking 50mg/day for about 3 days, then I went to 100mg/day for another 2-3 days, and then I went to the full 150mg. I take one 50mg pill after bfast, lunch, and dinner. I have no side effects at all from the Metformin. When I took it the first time I started in mid-Sept. 2007 and I ovulated on my own in December and got pregnant with my DD. I am on it now to TTC #2. Good luck!!

Thanks so much! The doc actually already told me we'd be gradually increasing the dosage to avoid the side effects. I hope I have the same results as you!

im on 1500mg metformin too. i actually love it. i havent had any bad side effects AT ALL and i find i feel really good on it. also after 6 weeks on it i O'ed on my own without any other meds, which is pretty rare for me! good luck!!
