Seeing a RE
When did you start seeing a RE and how do you know when to start? My OB office (didn't talk to my dr as she wasn't available) said 12-14 mos of trying and then they discuss options. Just finished mo 8 of TTC (well 9 mo - first mo we tried but I didn't track anything), in my late 30's and have other children (no issues - relatively easy to conceive). A lot of the websites I visited said over 35 should seek out after 6 mos of trying. DH is on my case saying we should not be waiting but I feel like my hands are tied - what would you do or what have you done? For those whose DH's have been tested, how did they get that process started - meaning did they get a referral or what dr did they see?

Re: Seeing a RE
Since you're in your late 30s, I'd def go see an RE. The RE will send both of you for all of the tests that are needed.
Good luck!

Re: Seeing a RE
I agree with your RE. Call your insurance company and see what htey cover. Some won't cover and RE until 1 year of trying...but mine said there is not a time frame. I spoke to my doc when we were on 7 months and he recommended waiting. But they do say if you are over 35 that 6 months is the time frame... If your insurance covers it then my thoughts would be why not get things checked out. It can't hurt....

Re: Seeing a RE
I would see a RE. I put it off way too long, and now I am regretting it. Testing and getting a plan, takes TIME.
I hate to say lie, but LIE if you must and tell your insurance co. you have been trying over a year. They are a PIA.
Good Luck!
