I ask because I am thinking if going to dr. B but hes very far for me...im in Ronkonkoma...

Oh, I think it varies based on what your during, iui, ivf, timed Bd'ing...

This was my first month at Cornell, I went in for a sonograms, HSG, DH's Semen analysis, bloodwork and 2 days of motinoring for timing BD'ing and Inducing Ovulation, I was prob there this month about 6-7 times this month.

when i was doing my IVF cycle, I was going almost every day... specially towards the end of the cycle..... but it does depend on what you are doing...

I would be doing IUI if it gets to that, still gonna try on my own for a few more months...

I agree it depends on what you do. When I did/do IUI's there is a week or so that I have to go everyday and then a few days before that!

I went a lot more at the beginning before we knew which protocol would work for me to develop good follies.....

For my second cycle, we narrowed down what would work at that point.There seemed to be just one week of the cycle that I went a lot and that's the week of the IUI. I went 4 times that week.

It HIGHLY depends.

Just make sure if you work, you can go to the office prior to work.

For IUIs, I'd go from two to three times a month to every other day (when on injections) to every day (when close on injections).

It's a LOT of visits.

I had medicated (injectibles) IUI's done. I went for monitoring usually on CD 3 (always)and once or twice and then 2x for the b2b IUI. So a total of about 3-5x a month. But i was generally a quick responder and by CD 10 I was ready to go.

Is it possible to find a sitter for an hour or two while you go for your appointments or schedule them when your DH is home? I would just think it would be easier for you.

I usually go on CD3, then CD10, then back on CD 12 or 13, then since i respond well and follies are usually good, if i haven't O'd on my own they trigger me at another visit, then in for the IUI, then sometimes a visit for a week later to check progesterone..

so that's about 5-7 times a month on average?

I would highly consider the distance from your house to the dr, and the office hours as well.

For me, if i don't get a 7:00 a.m. appt, i'll be late to my job in the city, so early office hours was a must for me.
For example, i'm having a consult with the dr. tonight at 6 (his latest office hours) and i have to leave at 4:10 to get back to LI and to his office on time.
That's way too early for me to leave work (i'm usually here until 6) so could not do that on a regular basis

I'm in holtsville and I drove there for a consultation there was no way I could that 3-4 times per week, and keep my job. I choose to go to RSofNY in Stony Brook, its right on rt347 not even 15 mins from me.

I live out by Westhampton and travel to Garden City and NYC. Its not that hard and its only insane for like a week, if it comes to that. You do what you have to do. You don't want to waste time, so go to the right RE and just deal with the commute.

When I was going for my IUI, I went on day 3 and then on day 9 and day 11 and day 13. I live in Queens and traveled to Woodbury for Dr. B and while the drive is quite taxing it was well worth it. He is a great doctor. I also work in the city and normally get in a 7:30 so while it was tough having to lie about where I was going and for what, my boss is very understanding so it wasn't a problem for me.

I don' think Ronkonkoma is far from Woodbury..maybe 20-25 mins.

If you are doing IVF, you will have to go to the city though.

Im just starting but dont have an answer for you but...im grew up in ronk and I dont think it will take you long at all..maybe 25 min...he is right off the expressway
